Housing...

Which city has the cheapest housing and which has the nicest, and is there any advantage to having a more expensive house?

I really need a place to store my stuff, so I'm in the market.

I know the house in Bruma is 10k, so I'm sure it's pretty nice, but thats a crapload of money, especially since I'm trying to play an honest character in this game.

I bought the 15k in Chydenhal. I've also bought the 2000 shack in the Waterfront District. If you're only going to use it to toss your trash, then the shack will do fine. From what I can tell, containers have no limit.

But I suggest you get something at least semi nice. It's going to cost a lot in furnishings and all, but then you can spend time arranging your awesome loot into displays. You know, those items that are just too good to sell, but you have no use for otherwise.

the one that is 25k in skingrad is very nice and you can ever buy a slave bitch to go along with it.

ALSO there is a note right above where the door is on the top floor that is a side quest.

How do I buy the one in Anvil?

So items you put into your house will not dissapear on you.
(That is what I'm worried about, I've killed a few guards and I'd like to keep the gear. :) )

And as for buying them, generally look for the town/city's king/steward/department

or you could use the secret cave beneath the castle...has an intrance from the harbor...and it's free....a la the prima guide

The Anvil manor is indeed haunted and it looks like a pigsty, but as soon as you have completed the quest it will be refurnished and it's really nice. Lots of storage in the cellar and your own necromancy altar if you are inclined that way.
It's my only home and so far I find it quite sufficient. I'd love a bench on the balcony, but I guess there will be a mod that allows carpentry and stuff sooner or later.

I have bought the house in Leyawiin, and the haunted house in Anvil.

The house in Leyawiin cost 7,000 base, with 1,600 for each furnishing portion.

Well you get told that by the quest after you receive it regarding alchemy ingredients. Any ingredient you put in there will be multiplied the next day.

Shame gold doesnt work with that chest, i've only got 168270 left after buying all the houses, extensions and serving wench :( Guess it's time to find a few more sets of armor to sell.

it depends. the daedric boots and greeves aren't bad deals.

its stupid. the more you rank, the more you just rake in the the cash. i got like 400,00g now and i barely bother to pick up and sell armor anymore.

Better than me, I'm like a lvl 21 who hasj ust been running around half the game doing random things and I barely have 8k. Only bought one house too - the anvil one.
