This would make a good 1st real oblivion thread (if it wasn't for the fact that I just barely started playing yesterday and haven't gotten very far).

I'm enjoying Oblivion too, I finished closing my first Oblivion Gate and I leveled up so I went to sleep.... and when I woke I got one of those paragraph's talking about a shadowy figuring drinking a sleeping persons blood and as it draws closer you can see that figure is you!. I became a fucking vampire and I didn't even realize I was infected. Because you can't mouse over status aliments so I didn't know I had the disease. And since I can't figure out when I was infected I can't reload my save and prevent it.

So now I have to get used to being a god damn vampire, good thing I went with Assasin for my class. Its not so bad being a vampire though, I can cast Hunters Eye when ever I like and I see in the dark and I can see the aura of any living creature (any creature really) as blueish smoke through walls. Which makes dungeon crawling a bit easier. However not being able to talk with people when I'm in full blown Vampire mode, or go out in the sun really is starting to blow.

I think I'll try to join the Dark Brotherhood, it'll be pretty fitting for a vampire.

Loving it so far, finished the brotherhood quests and a ton of thief. I barely touched the main quest!

Someone said on another forum that if you go into some .ini file and set the grass draw to 300 or something?

The simple solution was to go into the .ini file and lower the grass size to 300.

I'm on the part where you're supposed to kill the vampires for Azura and they're tough as fuck :(.
