Priest gear. Pre End Game, Post End Game

My priest is starting to "come of age" and quickly reaching 60 (i'm hoping to be there by this time next week - lvl 53 1/2 right now).

I'm planning on staying shadow spec until the patch comes, after that, i'm not sure (if i'm 60, then it will be healbot, otherwise it may stay shadow).

So, Since i'm goign to be running Strath, DM, Scholo etc etc etc, What is the best gear for a priest (healing) that can be gotten, either made or through world drops. Devout set is nice, but the set bonus's are ho-hum. And with me being shadow right now, i might try for 2 sets (dreadmist and devout - yes, i'll only roll if a lock isn't there or has the items :P).

And right now, we're in the middle of doing MC. We're up to Shaz, but we're hoping to finally be able to clear it in a few weeks. Once cleared, we'll move on the BWL i'm assuming after we start getting people geared. Is the prophecy set like the devout set, in that you can find better gear elsewhere? or is it good and should i go for the set?

IMO Get the mooncloth stuff made if you have the cash until blues with stats and +healing start dropping. I started with mostly greens doing those runs and I did okay as a backup healer.

I swap out some dreadmist and +shadow gear for PVE and then some Devout and +healing gear for instance runs and that seems to do fine for me.

Make sure to get the Holy Bologna book and get to the DM library at 54 (I think) for a great trinket. Also make sure you do the ST priest quest for the Blessed Prayer beads.

so don't worry about the full devout, just get +healing and some of the devout with nice int? some of the mooncloth seems to have more int the the devout stuff.

I've got the book, and am waiting for when i hit 54 to get the trinket :D. I alredy have the priest quest done for the prayer beeds.

get the devout set if you want to upgrade it later like I am or just move past it for the higher tier stuff when you start on MC and the other end game instances

but what i'm asking is what should i work on getting while we're not running mc (Fri - mon). If devout sucks so bad, what then, should i be getting as far as rings. trinkets. necklaces, etc etc etc?. I have the prayer beeds now, and will get the trinket from the "holy bologna" quest right after i hit 54.

farm DM. Get the ring, dual mindtap talismans, mindsurge robe, the orge king crown, those gloves from that quest and the staff with the crit, padre's trousers.

Basically DM is the place to farm for the top blues at lvl 60, there are a few places for other gear, like scholo/strat. But they are so rare, basically fuck it. Just grab allt eh DM shit u can.

Get Mindtap x2 NOW.

In 1.10 Kelendris will be much harder to farm, and with the ABYSMAL droprate on Shard of the Scale (one, EVER, and we've been killing Ony for pretty much a solid year), it's the best MP5 trinket you will see for a long time.

Most of the other good cloth healing gear is in DM, as rb said.

you can farm the guy easily, i farmed with myself (60 priest), my warrior and pally buddies, np, did 5 runs an hour for about 4 hours, got em both. Been 60 for a month played, still use those 2 trinkets

Our priests in Full Tier 2 still use 2x Mindtap. =p

The only trinkets that are better are Shard of the Scale, and Rejuvenating Gem.

prophecy sucks... 4 real

the ZG set at friendly/honored/revered (bracers / belt / shoulder) are all better/equivalent to prophecy for healing, which is ridiculous imo. if you can get in a guild that does ZG you'll be all set for loot...

if you can't find a guild that does ZG you basically gotta live in Dire Maul for 2 months...

basically all that shit and probably more drops in DM. all of it is better than devout for healing.

as far as my position is concenrend... i have a priest with about 40 /days played, i was pretty big into +healing gear, getting it up to close to +600 healing without gimping stats... basically with that much +heal gear, my flash heal rank 6 would heal for more than newer priest's rank 7... allowing me to cast rank 6 and conserve mana through casting a lower rank heal.. i also have 3 piece transcendence which gave me 30% regen while casting.. then i just got sick and tired of fukin healing noobs

so i recently specced shadow and my guild has let me roll on damage gear since we have alot of other priests that are all speced for healing... i just come to MC to fill up a DPS spot now... gonna try to compile more than 350+ damage gear and make a PvP video at some point :P

so yeah priests are definetely one of the funnest endgame classes to play.. just gotta find a good guild that'll take care of you... so GL.

Some other blues are also getting upgrades in 1.10. Spiritshroud Leggings off Beast in UBRS for example I think they're adding 25ish +healing to those.

If you want +dmg gear ZG and AQ20 are great places to find it. If you want to raid and increase your stats and efficiency, however, you'll need MC/BWL gear. With almost 700 +healing I can drop rank5 flashheals for more than our average priests' rank7 and never run out of mana.

I had a mishmash of random blue cloth gear from UBRS/Strat/scholo as a 60, and I did fine in MC. I don't really think you need to be that geared out for MC, unless you're completely in greens.
