Osiris 03-02-2006, 08:22 AM Recently rolled a mage which is now lvl 10. Trying to decide what build to follow. I was thinking about one of these:
Arcane/Frost

PessimiStick 03-02-2006, 08:56 AM Drop the 2 from Dampen (crap) and put it in Improved Sheep (Arcane Focus) and go Arc/Fire.
WarBuddha 03-02-2006, 01:37 PM I like POM with frost, instant casting a 1500 crit frost bolt + CoC is ownage.
LOL Internet 03-02-2006, 02:53 PM 21 Arcane 30 Frost
Presence of mind and ice block.
TF_Grungir 03-02-2006, 03:18 PM 21 Arcane 30 Frost
Presence of mind and ice block.
Thats my spec also, without pom though.
Ill be respeccin soon to include POM for more PvP utility. I used to run a split arc/fire crit build but had to respec to ice for BWL. Now that AQ isnt so fire resistant, Id like to go back to an arc/fire build but i think ive become addicted to iceblock :)
Osiris 03-02-2006, 03:34 PM I was thinking of maybe going Arc/Fire then respeccing to Arc/Frost at later lvl.
TF_Grungir 03-02-2006, 04:01 PM for leveling i would definately go with imp arc missiles or imp fireball as your first talents. I think i would go imp arc missiles(5) first then move over to the fire side for imp fireball, then back over to the arc side for iae.. after that, cant remember :)
HaPpY 03-02-2006, 05:17 PM USE www.wowhead.com ... BLIZZARD CALC SUCKS BALLS
Drop the 2 from Dampen (crap) and put it in Improved Sheep (Arcane Focus) and go Arc/Fire.
I approve of this statement.

I'm fire/arcane but that's not one of your selections. I enjoy my build alot.
Helado 03-02-2006, 07:13 PM My mage was 30/21 fire/arcane. Unless you're gonna grind with blizzard, I'd go some kind of fire/arcane build. When you get some more +dmg/trinkets then hop back over to arcane/ice or if you like the survivability of ice for pvp types maybe think about that. For grinding though, I liked the burst dmg and quick killing of fire.
edit: I like your arcane/fire build. Just like others have said you can use those 2 points in dampen magic in decrease in resistances to overcome any chance of getting a resisted poly.

Lots of our mages are like 30/21 Frost/Arcane though... yah?

juicyfrys 03-07-2006, 05:08 AM I would never ever spec into elemental just not viable. Arcane has wayyy too many needed talents.
Equality 03-07-2006, 09:51 AM 31 arcane/20 frost here

If I were to respec I might drop cold snap, it sort of loses its function without ice shield and ice block.

Yah alot of our mages are 30/21 frost/arcane. Which is why I NEED to be fire/arcane just incase a suprise occurs and I am needed. It is ALL for the guild.
Feannag 03-07-2006, 01:20 PM As I have seen people usually got Arc/Fire for PvE/grinding, and then switch over to Arc/Frost for PvP. I asked around why Arc at all and I guess there's a number of talents in there that increases efficiency of mana use and reducing channeling times.
