Getting into a decent guild

So I reached 60 a couple of weeks ago, and am wondering the best way to get into a guild with 35+ active players.

This game fucking blows for an unguilded person, and since I've been picking armor up from shitty pugs I pretty much only want to gun for the bigger raids.

I played WSG with the best guild on our server and fucking rocked, but since they were most likely on vent they didn't respond to my recruiting inqury.

I havn't touched the game in a week now because joining a BG only to lose because everyone just wants to 'PhaRm the farm' is the biggest joke ever.

Group with them a lot, find their web-page, guest raid, and finally get recruited would be a rather natural progression of events. Although, sometimes you get invited straight up when you're lucky :sunny:

Find the web sites of some guilds on your server and apply to them.

Get CTRaid and Ventrillo. Get keyed, work on getting some decent resist gear. Don't be a tard.

AV has always been the "just for items" BG

you stay there long enough to get the exalted items then you GTFO and never come back

for ranking it's pretty much AB all the time, especially on AB weekend and then take the WSG games on WSG weekend if you want

personally i dispise WSG so i never queue up for it much, only inbetween AB games to get some kills, then i take the AB queue out

Yeah, I've had WSG matches last longer than some AV matches.

i dont know if you play in a small server or something. My first time in AV was a week ago and i recieved 450 honor kills for a 2 hour game. i played AV maybe 3 times for a total of about 6 hours and did my normal ganking at booty bay and out questing and i recieved 31,000 honor points for this week. I play on the crushridge.

how much honor do you guys normally get? every person that i have talked to on my server have pretty much told me that for honor AV is the place to go.

ya

You need 1-2 people to basically befriend you first of all. It isnt even fun to join a guild without knowing anybody in the first place.

IF you arent sure WHICH guild, then just poke around and do some research.

Run the usual lvl 60 pickup instances and ask people about guilds in PMs. Dont be shy. If you find a good guild or two, find some people you trust in those guilds to talk to and ask their advice on how the process works and what's important to know about the guild.

You SHOULD be keyed for BWL and MC. Hands down, no questions. You should also show some good effort at getting MC-level fire resists... and put in the work (you'll need to anyways).

When you finally likely have to apply on their forums, you should be able to state that you've gotten all that shit done and tell them you're serious and show they respect (but dont be an ass kisser).

PS - a good guild will point you to their class leader of sorts for your class. Talk to that person. If they dont have a class leader, try to find somebody who is a top dog for your class in that guild. Talk to them, dont bother them... but ask for advice on applying.

And keep in mind you want to convey confidence, commitment and some basic knowledge. So, when i say ask for advice... dont act like a n00b, just ask about application process and what the guild needs, etc. :D

Haha kills don't matter for honor. I can get 20 kills and get 100k honor from AB.

See this is what I was looking for. Thank you.

And in reguards to the av/ab - av on our server is a 3 hour wait. AB/WSG on a weeknight is like 15-30 mins. Therefore when you lose 10 BG's in a row because you play with the same shitty group of people, it really kills the fun.

personally i dispise WSG so i never queue up for it much, only inbetween AB games to get some kills, then i take the AB queue outNo way, WSG is an easy 100-150k cp a day of farming with less than 5 minute queues. AB on the other hand outside AB weekend I get much less cp. I went from neutral to 3/4 through friendly in WSG in the last week and a half since people started playing it all the time on my server. Reason they're queing up for it now is cp farming teams are dwindling down to only a handful of people so it's easier to queue with 10 for WSG than to wait for an ideal 15 for AB, and AV is shit for cp.

And whatup FX?! Haven't talked to you in a couple years man. Hit up DM, BRS, etc and get the very best blues available to your class and make sure you're keyed up for MC+Ony+BWL before even thinking of applying to any competent guild. PuG it up in BG's or instances and get to know alot of people and if you play well people will invite you back. Get the right people asking for you often enough and you'll find your way into a guild worth playing with eventually. If your server came out at release like mine it's really hard to get into a good raiding guild atm because everyone has played together for so long. If your server is newer you'll have a much greater chance of success.

I could play AB or WSG for 6 hours and get probably 100k honor.

Eh? I've gotten 31k a day before by being part of one of the 'leet' honor farming teams. You queue WSG, destroy whoever you're playing in 10 minutes, collect your 1200 honor (was it 1200? and then 2k on weekend? been a while), do it again... Stay in queue for AB/AV the entire time, this way you can play there when WSG queue isn't up. The queues for alliance on our server suck, 1-2 hours per for all BG's. I'm sure people who have 0-10 minute queues can rake in 5x that easily.

Yeah, I only pvp'd one day all of last week (sunday) and pulled 93k for the week. That was maybe 6 hours of WSG. Today only 2 hours for 34k all AB/WSG. A full AV game lasts an hour if you're VERY lucky and only nets about 2-2.5k honor. You get the same honor by winning about 1.5 wsg/ab games which can be done in 15 minutes with fast queues.

AV is fine for honor if you solo or have a group of 5 or less

but it's not the best place to get it
