They did the same thing to rogues/warriors not that long ago.

doesn't affect me, i have a 47 BM / Survival hunter :)

how did it work before this patch? i have a hunter but don't understand how this effects me...

If you have a slowass crossbow, you wont be critting for 2k every time on multi and aimed.

It makes me laugh that so many Hunters are up in arms about this. After the melee normalization it was only a matter of time before Hunters were hit too. If anything, I'm just surprised it took so long.

I'll just get a really fast bow/gun and it'll be a buff :P

always stings a bit to be nerfed, but it was retarded the way it worked in the first place. just sucks that they take so long to find out they are stupid and need to fix stuff. xbow is still top ranged weapon from most of the math i've seen. if anything it's tied with huhu's stinger.

Now it will actually make sense to grind to rank 14 as a hunter.

I find this hilarious as I have always felt the 'super awesome' massively slow bows were a complete joke and absolutely sucktastic. This just furthers that along.

That video out a while back that everybody flipped out about, orc hunter doing 1700+ multi crits with the BWL crossbow... I could do higher with Rhok and not lose any extras shots :shrug:

So this doesn't really affect many hunters other than the one-hit wonders, a buff to a lot, and no real effect on those with Rhok'delar.

The fact that you even SUGGESTED that Rhok was better than Xbow of smiting pretty much completely invalidates anything else you had to say.

Also, the idea of landing harder multi's with Rhok is *completely* fucking laughable, and you're a moron.

One potentially lucky crit or two, which would you rather have?

Sorry, 'one hit wonder' builds and weapons are just garbage on a class that doesn't even have a real weapon-based instant attack. Multishot isn't instant by the way, it's 0.5s cast.

Any build that relies on crits to win while simultaneously gimping their critical rate is an absolute joke. Anybody with full GS and Marks build can pull 1900+ multishots out of their ass with a Rhok'delar.

The video just showed someone with mediocre gear and that bow. Someone with slightly better gear and a Rhok'delar can do the same thing. The math was done a while back that shows 2.8 speed to be the perfect speed for a ranged weapon on a hunter. Originally it was thought quiver haste made the BWL crossbow fall into this range, but AP is calculated before any sort of haste, so 2.8 still falls into the best range.

So now all those people clutching dearly to their slow 'awesome' weapons get penalized while everybody else that didn't rely on those lucky crits gets a buff or stays the same.

By the way, you'll notice I never said comparing equal gear. I merely pointed out that guy's video was not impressive but most likely added to the reasoning for this change. Nice way to blow up and explode though, I assume you have the BWL crossbow and are upset about the change.

Best bow post 1.10 will be the Huhuran anyways, so this is kind of a moot point.

Seriously though, if you think the two weapons are even comparable in live, you do not understand combat mechanics.

As an aside, if you can kill Chromaggus, I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the rest of your gear is as good, or better, than the guy using Rhok.

Oh, and there's no way in hell you're pulling "1900" Multi crits, sorry.

In order to Multi for 1900 with a Rhok (and no zerking), you'd need right around 2100 AP (on 0 armor, MUCH more on anyone that isn't naked). I'm guessing you don't walk around with that.

Edit: The part in your post about AP being applied before quiver haste being a reason that 2.8 was good made me literally laugh out loud.
