Just wondering if any servers are hosting that classic mod where the chaingun does more dmg to te pod and the grappler has less ammo...and was it well recieved when people played it?

StanRex 01-31-2006, 01:58 PM If you re talking about classy mod, its not on any server atm, since to get it on servers, the admin for those servers need to like the mod, which isn't really the case atm. To detail the mod currently does the following (v5) : _ decrease grappler ammo to 10 and add degrapple _ remove rover weapon _ tweak the pod so it s very fast in forward movement, sucks at strafing (very, very slow at it, so it can t be used to hover over a base and spam, if you try to do this, you ll get shot down), decrease it s hp to 100 and give it chaingun instead of rockets. I intended to turn it into an useful, skilled chasing machine instead of the current spam machine. _ shield pack active effect makes you take only 25% of damage you should receive, but removes three times the damage you just took from your energy. Plans for v6 : _ since people shout that shieldpack is now useless, I ll decrease the damage removed from the energy to twice the damage you take when active. However, I won t remove the fact that damage absorption will hinder your movement. _ make the blaster more useful, maybe by increasing the number of projectiles it shoots. _ Requests have been made to have a faster spinfusor disc which inherits more velocity. I ll give it a go too. _ If I can find out how, I ll replace the anti aircraft turret by sentry ones, since there has been a lot of complains concerning the ease to spam using the antiaircraft ones. _ Tank : need ideas. Assault ship : would like a lot to make it so you need to have at least one gunner to use the bomb, because it seems a bit uber for one lone guy to be able to hover indefinitely over the battlefield and spit those crazy rounds. Making it need two people to operate properly could be a start, I m open to ideas. The mod might come to the oc server, but afaik, there are no "official plans" from any server on hosting it. edit : on euro servers, we have seen an increase in player numbers, possibly because of the tournament. edit n°2 : it s good to see there are still players interested in the mod. Another news would be that I released a new game mode, called Pure CTF, where players are only rewarded for flag and style related actions. This means no more points for killing some guy not near a flag, or for destroying/repairing a part of base equipment. I wanted to thank rapher for his help with modding game modes, it was truly invaluable. Shield takes away energy when taking damage. We were unable to test the rover and fighter due to the fact that entering them is impossible We put both cmodv5.int and cmodv5.u in the bin folder of the server. And then edited the server's .ini Are these known bugs? Is there anything we are missing like a package file? Did we install it wrong? StanRex 02-02-2006, 06:58 AM looks like an issue with the .int. I ll look into it. edit : I tested it with a ded server and it works ok. I believe you installed something wrong.
