UPDATE [next week] : went back this Saturday (01/28) since I did so well last week. Chopped first place again, 4 ways evenly, without playing it out. Got in for $200 again.
Paid $1,740. Were a lot less rebuys this week, so the pot wasn't quite as big.

Awesome. I like live rebuys a lot. Always had good luck with them. Keep up the good work!~

As far as the chop went, how uneven was it? Were you guys close in chips? Congrats on the win.

When we got heads up, I had about 130,000 and he has about 125,000 ... almost dead even.
At the time, payout for 1st was about $5,000 and 2nd place was only $2,500 ... which is a big difference. (40 person tourney, only 4 places paid)
He wanted a perfect split, but I told him I didn't want to play cards heads up for nothing, so we decided to chop unevenly. We split the first two payouts half and half except for $1,000. Thus, 1st place paid $4,250, and 2nd place paid $3,250. Since I finished 2nd, chopping earned me an extra $750 or so.
I won another $180 at the cash tables after the tournament. I tipped the dealers $200, and covered by brother-in-law's losses that night, so I came home at about +$3,000 exactly.
I had him owned on the last hand too.
holding A J suited with 2 6 7 on the board ... two of which were my suit. I went all in hoping to just scare him out.
He called with A T, unsuited, and caught another T on the turn. bummer, but it was still fun.
