Why can't they release an unofficial patch for T:V?

Why can't they release an unofficial patch for T:V? I dont even care if it is unsupported since we already have an unsupported game. But since it is complete, why not give it to us?

Because it won't make VUG any money. That, and only a handful of people would grab it anyway.

Edit: That, and the damage is already done. Even if it was some miracle cure-all patch, it wouldn't be enough. The only reason that people stuck with T:V so long was the hope of that patch. It never came, and the tribes community moved on.

There is NO patch in existence that will correct main issues that most Tribes 1 and 2 players have with the game such as the netcode not allowing more than 16 players and repeating terrains.

An unofficial patch? omfg, we never thought of that. Dude, you could have saved T:V as we know it.

I think the brand was one of the things they were interested in. Somebody said it recently: Irrational's games never suck. I like that for a brand identity.

I was under the impression that the patch only contained map fixes and punkbuster support. We have Anti cheat system and the maps were already fixed, so this supposed patch would be worthless.

The only thing T:V needs is players.

Garage Games, TSE, Mark Frohnmayer, Jeff Tunnell, Zodd, Multiplayer, Nefilm etc ...

These are words I want associated with anything new thats Tribes, and of course those involved in community projects..Renwerx, Legends etc...

Theoritically, it could handle 1000's, if you had the hardware and bandwith to back it up. That being said, most pay-servers would still cap at 32 or 64 players.

May I please direct you to THIS VIDEO (http://www.tribesmovies.com/downloads/tribes2/sYs-yavor.Travel-T2movie.XviD.avi). T:V had its good moments yes, but focused more on SPORTS gameplay and less on the EPIC WARFARE gameplay. To each his own I guess.

I think legends is a good start, it captured or almost captured the feel imo, just needed the updated graphics and bug fixes. If the graphics aren't going to be up-to-date then why make a new game? We already have t1.

The base physics of Legends is pretty good (similiar to T2 classic, but a tad floaty).

But yeah Im not too hot on the weapons and all, but its the community attempt that matters, and its on Torque =). I forgot to throw your name in the mix for maps.

Unreal has plenty of support and has multiple patches available, surely you know how google works?

I thought the patch was going to contain peformance and graphical fixes, punkbuster support, and maps. I enjoy playing TV, but it never surpassed Tribes 2 for me. The new graphics are great though.
