[Service Pack 2] Anyone got it?

Need to update these fucking UGLY 24bit LIVE! drivers for my SB card. Of coruse, it requires SP2, as those POSs would NEVER fix a driver of theirs if they didnt have to.

microsoft.com uses windows update...yeah...and a few of the other sites that offer the SP2 for free dl seem a little shady.

That's very good and all, but Im told that even if I download SP2 absent windows update, it'll still fuck me over cause I dont have a product activaton number or a non-leaked corporate cd key.

Can anyone confirm this?

so what exactly are you asking? You want to download sp2 but dont want to install it?

SP2 is a free update. It doesnt matter where you get it from because m$ has incorporated crc file checking. It's all the same update.

There is a tool called Windows Validation Assistant that you can use to see if your key is blacklisted. If it comes up hacked, the tool will let you know without shutting down your OS. It also says it does not collect personal information.

If you are running XP on a blacklisted key, you can disable it (rather than uninstall it) in IE and still run windows update and automatic updates.

So really your question is how can you install SP2 on your warez copy of WinXP?

And there is know reason for you to be running WinXP pre SP2 (as just about every torrent site has a SP2 ISO with CD keys... this is in no way an endorsement to use a warez copy)
