villian is decent player, up 3k in 2,600 hands 21/11.8

Went for a check/raise.
Anyone think I should have called?

With 3 other people in the hand, why didn't you bet the flop?

As far as the turn, obviously you only have to worry about 56 or a set. Both are fairly unlikely so I might call, but it's kinda tough. And it depends on how often you've seen him bluff. *shrug*

Question, since I don`t know 6 handed or this level, how often do people raise to $25 or call that size of a raise pre-flop? Is it possible that he would call here with 56s?

He didn't bet because he was looking to check/raise the flop.

5/10 blinds 25 is a small raise, yes someone would call with 56s.

Not that you need or want my opinion but I like it when caco tells me why I am an idiot so here we go ... :)

The cold call before the flop with players to act behind shows some strength by villian. So, I don't think we are looking at 56 here. But, I do think TT, 77, A10 are possible holdings or we may be looking at a semi-bluff on the club draw.

I think it would be very hard for him to put you on your actual holding -- he probably has you on the draw b/c pre-flop was offering you 6-1, so you are going to call with just about anything.

Your bet on the turn looks like an attempt to take down a pot that nobody has shown an interest in with a flop that would likely miss most and the $400 overbet looks like a guy who wants you to go away.

I am sure I would fold here b/c 1.5-1 pot odds are just not good enough for me to continue, but I would feel like he got me off the best hand. :) If he showed his cards, my guess is A10 or possibly JJ.

Calling $25 preflop at the 5/10 doesn't mean anything really.

So take it as a sweetener then and say we have basically 3 limpers in front of you, you are happy to see the flop with your marginal holding ... flop top two pair, try and get an extra bet out of somebody on the check-raise, nobody bites. Come out on 4th street with a pot-sized bet after a scare card and get raised 4x your bet, seems like a pretty good time to lay one down in that case facing a TAG opponent. If you put him on LAG, you might play back at him depending on your image at the time.

But, you must have posted it for a reason, so do you think there was a call lurking somewhere in there?
