Dear IxiterraJerryGarcia 12-28-2005, 01:39 PM u ded mon? havent seen you in #thenuts for a while creat!ve 12-28-2005, 03:06 PM come back =[ Ixiterra 12-29-2005, 07:02 PM u ded mon? havent seen you in #thenuts for a while No, but poker and life have been annoying me lately. And it's hard to resist the urge to spam horrible beats that I take anally daily in the channel. Poker went from making $80 an hour to losing $20 or more an hour for a long period of time. I played extremely well today (trust me, I know when I play well and when I don't) and what did I end up with? $33. On Tuesday, I went 800 hands without ever drawing a single flush (lost $180). Even with hands I folded preflop I only would have made like 3 flushes. AA went 1/4 today (one hand with another AA, we both lost to JJ), QQ 1/7 with a flopped set over set loss to AA. So whatever, nobody wants to hear that shit all day in the channel. ;) I've said it before. It's a major soap opera playing poker for a living. And the way I play, my variance has skyrocketed. 23%+ VP$IP and 8 tables of 2/4 and 3/6 mixed in. When you're down $500 at 2/4, it's hard to stay focused sometimes. People tell me, "quit for the day when you're up xxx or down xxx" or when I start bitching about how much I've lost or bragging about how much I've won. But I have to keep playing because "in the long run" I should always be earning money as I play (there is no doubt that I can win at poker). Then, irrationally, I take days off because I get pissed at poker. So, in conclusion, I'd rather just avoid acting like a dickhead in the channel. And the only way to do that is to not be there. I thought I had tilt and everything worked out, but honestly I started playing without enough bankroll to do it as a full time job. I've had a few unexpected and a few overzealous expenses lately thinking I was gonna keep $4k a month up, which didn't happen. Until I have a very large bankroll and money spread around and other deals going like rakeback, tilt probably isn't avoidable. It's the money that pisses me off more than the bad beats. CjBurden 12-29-2005, 07:44 PM 4K/month at 2/4 would be so tough. Just simply beating 2/4 at party is fucking hard enough, let alone beating that well. I'm still struggling there. Maybe I just haven't adjusted to the wild nature of the games there, but it's definately high variance poker. cheddarmon 12-29-2005, 09:03 PM Play NL CjBurden 12-30-2005, 02:13 PM NL requires more concentration than I can seem to give when I play online.
