I recently bought new RAM for my new comp. and its PC3200 (DDR400) and yet it runs at 200mhz. Any reason why it runs so slow?

Do you have other RAM that in that is slower than DDR400?

its ddr memory. ddr(double data rate) which meens if it runs at 200mhz then its 400 mhz effective. so if your running at 215 mhz in bios your 430 mhz effective. Make seince?

Your clock speed is correct.

This is how DDR works. It transfers data twice per CPU cycle so the actual bus speed is half of the RAM speed.

This man speaks the truth.

Your ram is running at the proper speed. 200MHz == DDR400 == PC3200
