nope seems to have fucked up again. it loaded Windows in Safe Mode and Normally. Now it won't even boot the comp up.

As soon as you turn the computer on, it seems to go to sleep. Monitor power is yellow (sleep) and the computer power is yellow as well. I have unplugged it for 20 minutes and still the same thing.

The owner told me that they saw a screen saying something about the CMOS battery being low and didn't know what that means.

Would this still affect the computer? Even after loading Windows? I will try replacing the battery tomorrow, if she brings it into work, and see if that'll fix it. If not, any other ideas?

It's a 4 year old Gateway (can't tell you much more than that)

no upgrades whatsoever.

Well, I wasn't told this until last night. Aparently her husband said he saw an error saying that the CMOS battery was low. I then went to Wal-Mart and got the battery and gave it to her today. Told her where to put the battery and apparently it now works fine.

For future reference, any other errors that can be occurred by the CMOS battery?
