do they fire upon unboarded ships?

Say I am solo mining, and a spawn of npc rats warp on me, could I simply eject until they leave? Or will they still shoot my ship?

I think they will stop shooting....can always try it in a cheap frig.

yeah, they leave, eventually. sometimes its 10 minutes, sometimes its an hour or so.
