Why is everyone so goddamn stupid?

I just left two servers in disgust at the sheer stupidity of teammates.

I fully understand that not everyone has 'mad skillz', or can even shoot straight. I'm fine with that.

What does piss me off is people not even thinking about what they're doing. Everyone has a brain, everyone is capable of looking at what's going on around them and learning, but you see it constantly..

* the entire 32 player team will spawn at one point, facing the entire OTHER team. They will do so with no armor or air support, while at a spawn point two hundred meters away sits an unused tank and APC. No-one bothers to think that there are probably five undefended spawn points they could get in a hummer and drive to. No-one bothers to think that you can divert some of that enemy force, or come at it from another angle. That's a pretty regular one.

* Just had this one: Songhua stalemate. US side, we've lost our main base (of course). I head back there, as a medic.. it just so happens there's a Spec Ops guy with me. We run up the back stairs, into the covered walkway next to the flag. Well.. I do. Mr Spec Ops is busy running all over the place looking for people to kill. An enemy APC is there. enemy APC knows we are there and is firing on us steadily. Despite this, Mr Spec Ops is still determined to plant some C4 on it. A second enemy is also on foot, trying to kill us. He succeeds on Mr Spec Ops (who's also given away my position), whom I revive, before running back to the flag. Mr Spec Ops, with a second chance at not being a retard and just capturing the flag, proves that sometimes you should just let 'em lay there, and runs off and gets himself killed again. Once again, out come the paddles, and once again, off he goes.

Just cap the flag. You're not going to plant C4 on an APC that knows you're there and you're not already in throwing distance of. At least neutralise the flag, so that when you do kill those guys, they stay dead. Once it's yours, then deal with the bad guys.

Protect your main base - your Arty, UAV and Scanner are all there, the commander's fucked without 'em.. not to mention that there's usually powerful vehicles.. tanks, planes, helos that you want for your side, not your enemies. Conversely, try to take theirs

Seriously. This stuff seems straightforward to me. Avoid head-on fights unless you have the clear advantage. Try to flank your opponent. Protect your assets and attack those of your opponent. Work to your strengths, take advantage of enemy weaknesses.

It can't be that difficult a concept to comprehend, why the fuck do so many people not seem to?

PS: anyone got any more gripes to add?

I spent an entire map on Wake defending the beach as an MEC. I was spec ops and simply had the flag c4d. We kicked the shit o ut of the US. I did not see a boat the entire round. They capped maybe one, or two flags the entire map, and they didnt hold them, yet not one boat came towards the beach.

In all fairness, Wake is a terrible map. It was bad in '42, but with the added speed and power of the aircraft here, it's just no contest. A decent pilot on the Chinese side can practically stop their entire attack.. kill blackhawk, hunt boats, repeat.. drop a couple of bombs on the rear of the carrier for giggles if you want.. The US really doesn't stand a chance if you do it right.

One thing I can think of right off the bat is the let the squad leader go in first menthality. You'd think people would want to keep the SL alive, so that they wouldn't have to run to the other side of the map after they get killed but no. It's really fucking irritating when people just hang back and let the enemy respawn without even trying to cap the flag. Should you try to cap it yourself, you'll find yourself there alone and with the flag status changing so slowly that the enemy has the plenty of time to regroup and shoot you in the back, all the while the rest of your squad hides in the bushes.

3 times today my team had the bleed after being behind, scores get down to 12 tickets for each team. Each time I start spaming in team chat not to spawn because we win it with the players we have out there, pretty soon my team has 1 ticket and other is still at 8.

People need to fucking learn that when you spawn your team loses a ticket, if your team is losing by 180 tickets then spawn away but when it comes down to the wire not spawning can get your team the win. I don't care that much about winning but when your team is in the position for the easy win and they blow it in such a dumb way it bugs me.

Commanders that:
Don't D the home base, spot everything inside the UAV circle and ask a medic to go to the other side of the map to repair assets.

Players that:
Specifically on Karkand MEC side; get the tank, drive it to the suburb and sit there while the USMC's tank and apc obliterate the front lines.
Chuck grenades over a wall or row of sandbags killing teammates trying to cap.
Drive in the wrong direction or out of bounds.
Won't pick someone up.

Tips:
Joining a game midway through? Find the better players on your team via the score menu and squad up with them.
Use the zoom function for the minimap. Mid zoom allows neutral vehicles to be seen, and those are usually the easiest flags to take. Max zoom and you can pinpoint player locations.

people pub not to win the games. people pub to PLAY. if i was pubbing and you told me to sit there and watch the remaining 4 guys play for 5 mins so we could "win" i'd tell you to ream it right up your asshole

I only say something if we are down to 20 seconds, a lot of people don't know that spawing removes a ticket. They think that kills remove tickets and they need to get back in there to help win, most of the people that know a ticket is lost for a spawn don't spawn.

I don't what servers you play on that it takes 5 minutes to reduce the other teams tickets with a bleed from 12.

spawning actually doesn't remove a ticket.

a ticket is removed when you die. when that countdown timer is going, you're still not "dead" since you can be revived by a medic. Once that timer hits 0, you die and a ticket is lost.

^^ True, not respawning is pointless.
