Seems a lot more people are running for jets. Alot of them go sniper so they can shoot you through the glass if you get the plane.

Also I've seen people go commander and artillery their own and spam chat constantly. Guess they forgot that in the patch.

People are starting to stand in the middle of the runway as well, if you manage to get in the plane before them (forcing a teamkill). I've also repeatedly seen people use tanks or helicopters as taxis to the planes.

I'm trying to stick to admin'd servers, I just leave if people are acting like idiots and no one is kicking them.

yeah its pretty gay especially since most of these fags can sorta fly, its great though because with so many shitty people flying i rarely ever die in a fighter jet.

LoL I'll admit it... when I pub I fly the jet now... I think they are so much fun for some reason. Well I thought the same thing as the chopper as well and now I'm bored of that so I'm assuming the same thing will happen here but right now my fetish is the jets. And if I see you near a jet spawn and its about to come back up... I'm tking you.

I'm just an asshole like that.

This isn't any kind of sudden shit, that kind of crap has been happening since the game came out. I don't know where the fuck you people have been playing but seriously, don't play on servers that don't have admins on them.

if u want to get in first while waiting for the plane to spawn
stand in its spot and hold down 'e' or whatever button that makes you enter vehicles

People have been fighting for aircraft since demo, it is the same in all of the BF games. I just can't bothered with dealing with the shit just to get a aircraft so I just let the 6 people that are on the runway play Survivor:Pilot Edition for the whole map while I actually cap some flags.

Planewhores are playing a different game, their antics rarely if ever effect the battle on the ground beyond a few scattered kills.

I fly to take out choppers (no I don't try to ram them). I thus far lack the skill to dogfight and bomb, or even ride shotgun in a jet. For these reasons I will gladly step aside and ground pound.

yea. and ill stress there's nothing wrong with that. if they want to spend their day dogfighting, more power to them.

I never play sniper... I have like total 10 secs.

Anyway, this jet comes in to strafe the spawn and kills me. I get revived with a sniper rifle...then he comes back and I shoot him through the windshield. Awesome.

A good pilot, if he isn't fucking around trying to get into the jet will actually be useful if he's doing something OTHER then dogfighting.

Chance of this happening is like 5%.

What kills me is the guys who join the server in the middle of a round, and will stand at the airfield or helo pad for 20 minutes waiting for the guy who has it to die. And then when the guy does die and spawns and comes back to continue what he's doing, there is some fucktard sitting there with the "well I was here first attitude."

Personally, if it isn't there when I spawn near it, or someone else seems to be using it, I'll stick to the ground. But if my teams chopper/jet has been sitting un-used for the last 15 minutes, then yeah I'll put it to use just so the enemy doesn't steal it and rape the fuck out of us with theirs and ours.

i really enjoy it when theres a whole fucking squad of people standing on the helipad, just waiting and hoping for another blackhawk to spawn, while the rest of the team is getting raped due to the #s inbalance. Same garbage happens with jets, 2-3 people standing on the runway, waiting for the pilot to die so they can run the jet into the side of a mountain.

I love it when noob plane faggots decide they wanna dogfight whatever it is im chasing, I dont see how its tempting to follow me around lobbing heat sinking missles team killing my plane all round

I hear that. I actually can't remember the last time I flew an aircraft going back to 1942.

I don't get the fascination with planes. Unless someone is a really good pilot, they can get more points doing something else. Plus, if people love flying that much, they do make entire PC sims based on flying

Anyway, give me a tank over an aircraft anyday :)

I think they changed the splash damage cause it seems harder to kill tanks with bombs...unless I've just gotten worse, which is very possible.

I think they've upped the gun on the J-10 (chinese jet). Makes sense since its alot harder to pinpoint the gun.

Well.. depends on the plane whore. I spend a lot of time in planes myself (http://bf2s.com/player/MC_Hamster/ - 58 hours so far). I'll generally avoid dogfights as much as possible. I'll lock onto an enemy plane and launch off a couple of missiles to at least shoo him off, but you certainly don't spend minutes chasing him around the sky.

Most important things to do in a jet is stop enemy caps. You're the first person able to get to any point on the map, so when a flag goes grey, get there and kill whoever's trying to take it.. Other than that, take out transports that are on their way to take your stuff, and gunships and armour that are making life difficult for the ground pounders.. Close Air Support is what it's all about. Unfortunately, with the tendancy of the special ops types to charge the enemy tanks I'm bombing, I can sometimes wind up with a few teamkills (which I'm invariably punished for)

Also worth noting that every kill is a ticket off the other team. I'll often get 30 or more kills in a round when I'm flying, for maybe a death or two when I do something stupid and fly into an aerial, tree or just the plain old ground. That alone is helping out.
