forward TCP and UDP ports 0-65535 to your IP in your Port Forwarding Page of your router config.

thanks strega, should i also switch to a static ip address as well?

EA tech support also told me use my nforce card that came with my alienware, and disable the marvel yukon one that i am using, could anybody walk me through with this?

hold the windows key, hit pause/break
hardware tab -> device manager
expand the Sound,Video and Game Controllers menu
Right click your marvel yukon -> Disable

So pretty much the same steps, just replace the Sound... etc with Network Adapters.

ok do this start ---> run-----> ping jolt.co.uk, if you can ping then start looking at your firewall software on your pc i bet you blocked bf2 from accessing the net.

oh dont open your ports or dmz it because it means any1 can hack you, all ports should be closed. ports should only be opened if you running a internal server, vpn, www hosting etc.. ie services that you want the ouside world to access on your net work. ports on commercial routers only work 1 way and thats from the internet to your own private network not from your network to the internet. but if you have opened your ports it too late now cuz i bet you have trojans etc.. on your pc.

i didn't open my ports,

i pinged okay and it's not blocked ....

WTF IS WRONG , everything what should be closed is, everything that should be open is...WTF!

I'm on a linksys, and I didn't have to do shit to it.
There is a help file in the main folder that suggests moving your wireless router away from the rest of your components.

A buddy of mine had the same problem, the cause was Norton Internet Securities.

I'll talk with him more a little later for more info.
There should be a way to have norton allow bf2 to communicate, but I believe he just turns it off before gaming.

firewall software is stuff like nortons,
ok this is how you do it
open your nortons up---------- > click personal fire wall so it high lights it -----------> click configure--------------> click the programes tab now look at the top of the page it should say settings then a list of 4, ( at home , away, office, default) that could have changed the other way is to delete it, so on the same page there should be a bigger list called manual programme control look for bf2 then see if its permit all if it is and you bf2 still dosent work then delete it by using the remove after you ve delete add it again do a programe scan, now your bf2 should work.
