Uhh that must be an error because your processor would be gone before it hit 115 C.

Edit: Are you certain that's celcius?

absolutely certain and thats what i thought it would be an error i have a ecs extreme mb

it went form 70c to 110c in 1 minute

From 70? The processor wouldn't be functional at 70 C either.

So can i narrow it down to a wierd bios error and just disregard it?

Probably, if you just started it up, it wouldn't be at 70c. More like 30c.
Check for a bios update.

On a side note, the heatsink not being hot could also be a sign of it not making proper contact with the CPU. The BIOS definately has issues in your case, but it doesn't eliminate the possibility of overheating.

yeah thats what im afraid of... but how could a cpu get to be 235 f? i put it on and it didnt feel right so i took it off and resecure it exactly how the instructions said and it isnt moving so i cant see what i mightve done wrong

If you installed the HSF and applied the thermal paste properly, then there's nothing you should be worried about. Do a BIOS update and see if it fixes those outrageous readings.

Well all things aside, try clearing the BIOS.

Pop out the CR2032 battery on the mainboard and let it sit for a while, then put it in and start it up.

there was no thermal paste?? it was only tape and i mightve touched it by accident will that fuck it up so bad it will be 130c?

If your CPU had actually gotten to 130C then you wouldn't have had time to shut the comp off, AMD chips go up in smoke in a matter of moments. Touching the thermal pad shouldn't have any drastic effects.
