How much RAM do you have and how long are you leaving it at that screen? does hitting any of the following keys do anything: Delete, Tab, F10, F2, F1, Esc ? Amadeus 09-23-2005, 04:01 PM Need detailed specs and info on what you've been doing with it lately. Cuda 09-23-2005, 04:05 PM Athlon XP 3000+, 512 MB ram, some old vid card that I have no idea what it is, I havn't really dove into it yet. I'm eating lunch right now. It's my friend's computer so I have no idea what she's been doing with it. I know she downloads music. I was hoping it was some easy answer. :) It stops just after checking the ram. That would be the video card, right. It's CPU, RAM, Vid card if i remember correctly. liggyman 09-23-2005, 04:14 PM if your looking for easy answers try resetting the CMOS, and check to make sure none of the drive cables are loose. After you may need to start pulling hardware out. Amadeus 09-23-2005, 04:19 PM If the CMOS reset fails you, then disconnect/take out everything that's not essential to boot it up. If it boots, put back the devices one by one. If it doesn't, then you just ruled out a lot of potential problems. You could also make a bootdisk and see if it can boot from that. | ||
