short version: death coil is going to become the new instacast defense spell, DOTs are getting beefed, pyroclasm is going to affect soul fire, intensity and bane will affect soul fire, and the endgame pets are receiving significant boosts.
ruin is getting a slight nerf, too.
i may actually dust off my lock for this :D

1. so, they made death coil a 3s fear spell that continues to zap life but now also fears with 2 minute cooldown. this is a GREAT fix for the defense situation, since you can effectively use it once per fight and ALSO get a fear on the enemy. it isnt overpowered, as it sounds.
2. the pyro changes sound nice for those nuts going all-out fire for pvp. folks are going to start freaking out when more locks go full fire for pvp... cuz they are insane.
3. the buffs to DoT were not expected by me whatsoever. very nice catch on their part, especially since few locks actually complained about this. damage stays the same... it just speeds it up.
4. wow, Bane now speeds up Immolation. yikes... again, fire locks are going to be INSANE in pvp...
5. "These End-game pets were originally designed to defeat two even con mobs at 60, however, overall creature power has increased." I get the feeling they stuck to a stupid formula on this and only marginally increased the pets strength. I suspect they are still not worth the risk involved whatsoever and i wont get excited until i know there's some reason whatsoever to summon a doomguard.
6. Soul Shard bags. About fuckin time, for fucking fuck sake.

yea, making lock lvl 60 pets more powerful isnt what locks need.

yep, i really dig all the other changes. that dealcoil bit is a great dynamic and im eager for it.
im not sure how nightfall procs, honestly. is it MERELY a chance per tick? are we sure?
as for aggro, you make a good point. indeed, it WILL increase the rate in which you pull aggro from a void and will probably make voids useless at some intervals while leveling.

well, the question really is how Nightfall procs and if this impacts the rate.
i assume it would not, to the degree nightfall is merely a chance per tick. the independent dmg done per tick or the # of ticks per cast doesnt matter if it's just a chance per tick.
however, if the calculation includes other factors it might be different now. we'll see...

it wont speed up dps by itself.
locks have always been awesome. there just more awesome lately.
locks have had reason to whine but it wasnt anything severe to the point of undoing their total awesomeness :D

i dont think they've said.
however, if it's anything less than 40-slots im gonna be fuming.
i hope they made lvl 20, 40 and 55 bags at various sizes. stacking isnt needed if they just make them large.

666 damage / 27 seconds = 24.666 damage per second (DPS)

Looks to me like shorter duration on the DoTs increases dps :)

For PVP
If i am doing Arathi Basin, i hate having to fly to searing gorge or further between maps to fucking farm more shards because these battlegrounds are never near 48+ mobs.
If i could take 20 min and farm 50 shards i would before i started playing...

Its the sounds people screaming as they are Immolated, conflaged and beat into a bloody pulp by the doomguard.
Such a sweet sound...
If they're gonna buff the doomy and infernal like they say they are its very possible warlocks will become the new shaman.

I actually just switched from a typical SM/Ruin build into a heavy destruction build (19/0/32) and I fucking love it. Nightfall (when it procs) Deathcoil, shadowburn and conflag are my staples and I outnuke fire mages as is using elements immolate and conflag.
I have a reason to continue playing my warlock now.

i'd call that a "fire destruction" build, the hip new option. i made a similar build on Test and the dps was off the fuckin charts.
