w'aaah.

lvl 38 hunter and only about 30g to my name.

my professions are herbalism/alchemy and then a lowbie lvl 5 AH slut who does enchanting/tailoring (i sell wool bolts).

at the moment, i intend to basically run SM until 40 unless i can come up with better angles to make cash.

any suggestions? :D

(since december, ive always had a lvl 60 to farm when i needed cash for alts so this is first time im on my own with a char since then)

btw, it's Dark Iron and the AH is very buyer oriented with most trade items flooded at cheap prices.

unique items like fadeleaf are selling well, so any other suggestions welcome.

There are so many easy ways to make money in this game. Once I looked at it, I started making 30g a day when I tried. One of the easiest ways for me was to create a toon on the alliance side, buy cheap 16 slotters from their AH and use Gadgetzen to send to my main on the horde side. The 15% they charge isnt a big deal. Sell on the horde AH for 25% mark up. Thats one way among the 25 others.

I suggest doing 2 collection skills. Mining and Skinning are easy to do and net a fairly decent profit/time ratio.

I honestly find that copper is your best bet - one my server (LLane) it runs for ~ 65 silver on average/stack. I can get 3 stacks in a half hour run through Elwynn. I find that on established servers, basic trade stuff goes for a really good price, as 60's are twinking their alts and need a lot of basic trade stuff.

Once you can get to Alterac, Mithril and Iron are good money makers.

And finally, this is a no-brainer, but scour the AH for deals - a lot of people put up mid level greens for way below their actual pricel, or more likely, have the starting bid too low - I plunk a few silver down, and if the server is off-peak, I catch a deal and resell during the peak periods for the normal price.

My level 38 (on Stormrage) has 105 gold.

well, look, im not new to the game or making money... (and not gonna change professions for 2 levels).

generally speaking, i agree that mining and skinning friggin own for cash flow but... im not gonna change professions for 2 levels just for a lvl 40 mount (btw, this is the 4th char ive leveled...)

atm, im lookin at selling fadeleaf for around 10-20s PER... farming swamp of sorrows where swampwalkers and whelps also drop around 2s each.

we'll see.

any other tips?

(since december, ive always had a lvl 60 to farm when i needed cash for alts so this is first time im on my own with a char since then)i had herb/skinning with my druid on illidan and had well over 100g by lvl 30

At your stage it may be more of a pain with lower lvl herbs, but i made a ton on briarthorn, kingsblood, swiftthistle and wild steelbloom. I picked whatever i could find with help from the gathering marks for finding spots quick when travelling.

Other than tradeskills, making a lot of money at that stage is auctioning and luck.

Also look to remarket shit. Rings of eagle, cloth eagle gear goes at a premium, you can always mark up. Fire resist rings, golden pearls... essences... all it takes is some deidcation in checking frequently and you hit big when you do hit.

yea, i havent sold much herbs and have bags in the bank full. gonna clear house in next day or so. fadeleaf is going for a small fortune...

dark iron AH is unlike any ive ever seen, with extremely high pop and the bell curve learning heavily towards lowbies. EVERYTHING sells but only at cheap prices. it's quite nuts. on the flip side, things you'd expect to be a small fortune might not sell unless cheap (libram of resilience for like 5g).

i might farm swiftthistle too, as you mention, but right now fadeleaf is a great deal. it's going for (literally) about 50s a piece and i intend to flood the market a bit below that tomorrow, hoping it stays within reason and better meats demand. id be happy with 10s a piece... :D

btw, things like essence of air literally sell just about vendor price... so stuff like that isnt worth it at this point.

as for playing the AH for resales, im just not keen on the idea given how nutty it is so far.

Yes Dork Iron is not resale-friendly. However, I'm selling rare reagents like Wicked Claws, Large Fangs etc for 50s-1g each :o Why I'm not telling you this in guild chat however, I do not know. :D

Go farm Burning/Cresting/other one Charms. They are 1g a pop.!

i just placed my first test wave of fadeleaf. hoping it goes well :D

No because you can use them to banish the elementals for an arathi quest.

there's a decent amount of fadeleaf in hinterlands too

albeit you're maybe a little low for cruising around there, but there's ample sungrass and the odd fadeleaf out there to warrant sacrificing a pet a time or two

TseTse

ya, 38 is just too low for there... tried it (one of my fav farming spots in general for herbalism with fadeleaf, sungrass and ghost mushrooms)

might be ok if you are a druid or rogue (shaman perhaps too)

arathi is a great score. you can pull fadeleaf nicely with the right route, plus i stop to grind the fire and rock elementals for charms and the various other stuff (heck the vendor track rocks are decent too).

I'm 38 as well and I made 15g in one day selling potions, stacks of silk, and stacks of kingsblood. Swift pots always work well, and healing potions should be steady, as well as silk cloth when you can find it. But I also have people coming to me with orders of potions for various crafts, that makes some decent coin.

I found a good grinding spot is along the river in Alterac north of Dalaran. No XP on those turtles so you don't have to worry about hitting 40, they are easy to kill and those fragmented shells sell for about 46s a stack and drop very frequently. Even then you can make more money vendoring soothing turtle brisque, and you still profit after taking into account cost of soothing spices.

But this little gnome wanted Lesser Agility elixirs for Dark Leather Shoulders and I sold him three, and two of them sold on AH for 1g a piece so now he's looking for people to make him the stuff in bulk.

Fadeleaf will ALWAYS sell, because not all rogues are herbalists and they need it to make blinding powder. It is another great escape manuver if you're vanish isn't cooled down or if you don't have anymore flash powder. Couple of times a hunter tried to get me I blinded his cat and sprints and stealthed when I got out of range.
