you're correct, but this is considerably more attainable for your average player, and the higher speed gives a higher damage multiplier if you have a very high attack power (harder backstabs, etc).

This is simplified, as I don't feel like looking everything up to be certain, but the damage is straight out multiplied by the weapon speed. Rogue moves aren't affected by weapon speed, they're just bonus hits if you have the energy to execute them. So while your normal melee is slowed down, and that DPS is lower, the Ambush, Backstab, or Sinister Strike is affected by the weapon speed on a 1:1 ratio. So a 1.00 speed weapon would hit for half as much on a special move as a 2.00 speed weapon.

I am saddened that it was just an error, that thing would have been ownsauce for anyone that's not High Warlord.

likely it was originally a 2.20 speed sword until blizzard realized only pallies could use that and they made it a dagger so shamans/druids/priests could use it but they didnt change the speed

and yes while your overall DPS would be lower...your backstabs and ambushes with this 2.20 speed dagger would be equal to perditions blade or higher

luckily you corrected yourself before i saw this, theyre changing the weapon speed before it goes live, otherwise that would be a really stupid thing to do on their part.
