The first night after was not to active. Most of us were still in shock at the carnage. We had assumed that like storms of past years everyoneelse would return in a couple of days. We were dead wrong. Everyone that stayed behind in our little slice known as Algiers Point was alive and well after the storm. For that we were thankful.

I saw a thing on MSNBC this afternoon with the attourney general of Louisianna about forcibly making people that didn't want to leave evacuate their homes. The neighborhood of Algiers Point was mentioned specifically.

Ya I just saw that in Jomo's thread. When I watched the show, they hadn't announced any forced evacuations, but it was being discussed. They were questioning the legality of removing people that were in secure areas that has enough supplies to exist without extensive government aid. Like Algiers. I guess the local government finally made a fairly resonable descision.

Alert in Algiers
Wednesday, 10:05 p.m

Several residents of Algiers Point have posted door signs telling would-be trespassers that they are home and have guns to defend themselves. Resident Vnnie Pervel, former Algiers Point Association president, said he and a few other residents had been trying to sleep by day and patrol the streets at night.

I need to move down there ...
Sounds like a "head for an eye" set of rules ...

Interesting story to say the least...
Only thing that keeps comming to my mind is the guy in resident evil 2... in the beginning .. hitting people with the car!

Bah. Even if he IS telling the truth, I'll believe it when I see it.

This is the Internet. Reality and fantasy here are all but indistinguishable under the right conditions. If you want me to believe you, Codfire, then let's pony up some pictures, cause the only fantasy world where one man is a badass above all badasses in a post-apocalyptic hellhole that I choose to accept is my own.

I'd trust me to the ends of the Earth. You, on the other hand, I've never met, and therefore you're a different story.
