how do you people not fucking get it? if the kid leaves scott-free with the TV, then more delinquents come back in greater numbers to either commandeer the shelter of the homes for themselves or to loot the homes. then when they come back in greater numbers, all armed with guns, God help any old people or women or children they come across.
i don't know code4, but i believe every word that he posted. and i believe 100% that every action he took, was the correct and properly thought out decision.

If one is going by the self defense theory then the story sounds like it would stick up unless there are witnesses that say it happened differently and it was a straight up murder. But seeing as how most of the witnesses would be the people with him in the neighborhood I can't imagine anything happening to him.

no, it makes more sense to turn, or to fire at the guy, not speed up towards someone pointing a gun at him. he's already shown that he has no problem shooting at armed people. why would he not shoot at this guy?

Not going to happen. If a gang knows that the neighborhood is armed and will fight back they will not go after them. These guys are looking for the easy score, not a turf war.

Not going to happen. These guys aren't looking for a turf war, they are looking for the easy scores before the authorities come back. Armed neighborhoods are off their list of things to do.

Some people are just stubborn. I personally would have left depending on the situation. If my house was on the high ground, and I knew alot of my neighbors would staying and some of them being elderly I would have stayed to help them and protect them. Alot of the people that stayed thought this would be like the other 100 hurricanes they lived thru. It would pass, things would be torn up and they would get right to work cleaning up the mess as aid came in the very same day.
I am willing to bet that if you took a poll of the people that stayed that alot of them would change their minds now knowing what happened.

anyone asking if they are in legal trouble. My answer is no, as long as it was done in self defense.
Quite honestly, they could have shot anyone that moved and then lied saying the person had a gun. They can easily say it was self defense and that their neighbors saw the whole thing. The cops will chalk it up to self defense and probably say the dumbass looter deserved it and move on.
Considering that some of the cos lived in the area I don't think they will have much trouble with the law. They helped protect the cops homes to.
