Its just stuff. Pack up your irreplaceables & leave town imo.

Could have just as easily ended up getting shot himself, would it still have been worth it to die over his neighbor's TV?

As long as someone posted the story on TW.

Seriously, he didn't know that it was going to be THAT bad. I think thats something we all know by now--no one expected Katrina to be as bad as it was. I'm sure Code4 had no idea that NO was gonna turn into a warzone.

Thankyou for a rational explanation, though one I do not necessarily agree with.

I do find it funny that some of the people railing against poor blacks for not leaving are cheering on someone with transportation, Code4, for staying.

thats just because bush doesn't care about black people

When the apocalypse comes, this will be me and my crew, looking for food, water and women to squander.

God you are a bunch of whining faggots, you wouldn't survive 10 seconds in a place like that.

"Excuse me Mr. Negro, could you please help me out?"

How can any of you be so fucking stupid to possibly think that the police are gonna ID bodies and somehow link any of it back to them? There are THOUSANDS of corpses there and no infractructure left to process that

Get real you queers

Keep in mind that the person mainly doing the complaining is Loggy, a known whiny faggot and drama queen.

I am not debating the legitimacy of defending yourself against a would-be attacker. I am debating the legitimacy of confronting said person in the first place.
If you were ex-navy, in a neighbourhood where everyone knew each other, and all of your neighbours/friends chose to stay behind to protect our houses and possessions from armed civilians while the city was in a state of martial law. What would you do?

What if you decided to evacuate, and leave a few families that chose to stay behind to fend for themselves, because your insurance covered all of your property. Then when you returned several weeks later, you find that all of the families have been murdered (possibly raped), the majority of houses have been burnt down, and (if it's important to you) your insurance company won't cover what was lost.
You're now homeless, everyone you know has been killed, and all of your possessions stolen or burnt.

Could you shrug it off as though it were nothing, or would you spend the rest of your life wondering that if you'd stayed behind, perhaps you could've saved the lives of those you knew.

Maybe you could, but some people have courage and aren't like that.

I have no idea if what Code4 posted is true, but I believe that it is plausible.

Thanks for the link, but I am aware of Kayne West's comments. I was trying to determine how link_'s comments corresponded to my post.

I don't have a hard time believing this at all.

I've been in bumiest situations and seen the darkest side of life and when shit comes down, any of ya'all's survival instincts would kick into red line mode.

Well, almost any. I have reservations about some of you would cry in a corner sucking your thumbs.

That is all well and good, but how could one predict A) the scope of the disaster and B) the scope of violence resulting from it?

Well. I don't know what to say.

I suppose humans lose their humanity in anarchy.

Hrm.

The veneer of civility turns out to be paper thin under pressure.

I have no reason to doubt this is true, but whether it is or not the possibility of it is very credible to me, especially in cultures where there is a great disparity in wealth and access.

Years ago in St. Petersburg, FL, I was unaware at first about a fairly massive population of unemployed and underemployed ethnic groups. I was hit up for contributions to help build a community resource center by members of the A.P.S.P. (African People's Socialist Party).

I got a copy of their publication "The Burning Spear", which was pretty disgusting, making out that 1993 commuter train murderer "Colin Ferguson" to be a hero of the people, and other such racist propaganda.

I was quietly disturbed to find out about the open activity of this group and decided to check into some things. Likely only my friends will believe this next part, but I visited the "party headquarters" offices when noone was there. They had the creepy feel of a paramilitary operation, down to the terrain maps, and...ah, but that's a story for another time...

I do believe this man summed up the entire situation exceptionally well.
