Now, I play Battlefield 2 for about 3-4 hours a day. This error has been occuring since I bought the game a few days ago. I'm running around like a tard trying to shoot oil tanks or what have you and my game will just suddenly freeze playing the last sound heard over and over. When I finally am able to either Ctrl Alt Del or Alt Tab to my desktop, I'm greeted with a "VPU Recover" error window.

This game (Battlefield 2) is the first game I've owned that has given me this error. I play WoW nightly for a good chuck of time and don't recieve this error.

Is there a way to fix this? I've seen the option for my card settings to disable this option but seeming how I don't understand what it is or what causes it, I don't dare turn it off. Will turning it off cause system stability issues?

[edit] I would just like to add (incase it matters) that I run the game at 1280x960 with all Medium settings. The game doesn't hiccup and runs perfectly fine. This error just suddenly happens out of no where. When I alt tab back into the game, it runs just as if nothing happened.

shut off AGP Fast Write in your BIOS, or in the display settings' advanced properties somewhere (look around).

could be overheating too
