IGN are reporting that S2 are in the process of developing Savage 2 - the sequel to the FPS/RTS hybrid Savage that came out in 2003 (and several teams from Tribes played)

In order to start over and create a larger and better game than Savage provided, the team went back the drawing board and scrapped the Silverback engine in favor of their new and improved K2 Engine, which as you can see in the exclusive teaser trailer, there is a significant upgrade in detail from the last game. Models are much more detailed allowing for that very thick looking elephant skin on the Behemoth as well as some normal mapped human models as shown with the worker and fighters running in the world. The added fun of dynamic self shadowing helps create a much more realistic looking environment to fight through while the higher quality animation and spell effects create a lively and fantastic setting.

Sounds like good news to me. Savage was a unique game, and at times reminded me a bit of Tribes. IGN also have a trailer for the new game, which you can check out here
