The Tribes 2 CD Key Mess

The distribution of Tribes 2 through FlopPlanet is completely unacceptable. Since when does freeware need to have a CD key? And how could they just run out? Dont bother with the "just buy it" garbage, the game is freeware and I desire it now.

It's kind of a shame, but I don't see it as very productive to complain about a product that's no longer profitable to the developer. It's well recognized that they give a rat's ass about pleasing us.

I know a forum where used copies turn up fairly often, and as I've said before, they've been offered for as low as a couple of bucks. I think a practical solution would be to offer a couple of bucks paypal to someone that no longer wants their game.

In face, this comes up so often, I'm thinking of putting up a thread there offering to buy up valid keys, or maybe just "broker" them, put some guys here in touch with sellers so they can do their own paypal deal. Just a thought.

Since the game was released and has always required a CD key to create an account? You think they're going to change their system when they're already giving it away free? Wake up.

We could "fix" T2 so it doesn't use the CD keys at all.
