I have Compaq SR1050NX computer with upgraded ram and video card. It was working ok, except it kept telling me that Ram is 2700, and not 3200 like its suppose to be. So i decided to upgrade the bios and got the 3.12 version from HP website. Downloaded the driver, installed it (step by step - click Ok or Next icons) and at the end it asked "Would you like to restart now" As their "Installation Instruction" says, i clicked YES and now my computer starts up, but nothing is happening. I can hear the fans turning and DVD/CD working, but comp doesnt load at all. No start up screen...NADDA =/
Can anyone please help me. Knowing HP, they'll just say "Take it to your local tech".

bios upgrade should be a last resort. try taking out the ram upgrade?

well, the latest bios I had before were installed in Jan. 2004, so i thought of upgrading anyways...looks like big mistake

Uhh yeah. I'm pretty sure your mobo is gone now.

Yes. If there was any sort of error, it's irreparable.

Any way to reset it? What will happen if i take out the battery :o

fuck, yea
tried the memory, tried the Mobo battery, tried unplugging half the system
still nothing. and now i read alot of ppl who updated to that bios from "HP official critital update" site are having same problems. 2bad their soft they provide is 'as is'
