I don't think I would want to be a publisher right now. While I'm sure games will continue to sell on shelves for at least a few more years, this is the future.

Publishers have always reaped the benefits of the hard working programmers and graphics persons. It's the same with film and books as well. I'm glad that this is happening, but I say that without knowing everything the publisher actually does for a product.
