I wasn't aware that anyone was actually playing this game, but according to <a href="http://news.com.com/Hackers+slam+Everquest+II +economy/2100-1043_3-5829403.html?part=rss&tag=5829403&subj=news">News.com</a> hackers do

I guess that's the one good thing about controlling (at least partly) where you can legally sell ingame items - Sony was able to tell something was going on right away. I know there have been some duping bugs in WoW as well, but I don't think any of them made an impact as greatly as this.
