The truth is Vir or our team doesn't even really care about what people on Tribalwar thinks. As refried mentioned, we're an incredibly image conscious team - everyone knew this about us in the past.

Our team doesn't care about how TW perceives us anymore. I think that in and of itself bothers people more than if we had come in full defense of Vir on this issue. I see a lot of people constantly try to draw some sort of 5150 vs TW drama. I honestly don't think anyone on TW puts in enough consideration to change their point of view, or to try and change anyone elses point of view. After all, it is but a forum and drawing people's reaction is half the fun.

I'm aware of this, and I posted why. It's the problem of a lot of people who felt somewhat cheated when they were removed from our server, but not ours. :)

You're perfectly entitled to your opinion regarding Vir as a person and as a player. However, we have differing opinions. Vir is an essential part of the success of our team in past games. Vir provides very sound strategies (such as air dominance early in Tribes 2). He also learns his positions very well and is one of the most aware gamers I've ever come across. That being said, those are the reasons we keep him. His "asshole-ness" only comes alive on this forum, believe me. My team has gotten to a point where we don't really care how TW perceives us. I think I do, to some degree, and that is why I'm posting. I am, however, more nostalgic and sentimental than others on our team.

You are judging Vir based on his postings here and I completely concur that he comes off as a gigantic egotistical asshole. However, that's how he's choosing to act in this particular forum, and is having great success at creating some drama to entertain himself.

yea, I agree I am judging him mostly on here, but listen to his posts and what he says in IRC about being an admin on your server. I mean if you guys want to be known as the most hated pub because of how he bannes and kicks people fine, you got the nazi name not because of stupid bannings, but because you had a set rule list and you stuck with it.

Vir on the other hand, I feel takes it to another level. That level is, im 5150 and since I wear this tag, im untouchable. Unfortunatly it wont ever matter as there is enough people who will just put up with his bullshit so they dont "offend" you as a team. I on the other hand could care less about a video game persona and will tell you how I "feel" it is. Granted I dont know him as well as you guys so your points are valid... but honestly, I mean you guys do have a pub up for a reason right? To find a server thats fun to play on and pings well where you have control.

But when you start kicking people because you blatently TK'd someone and they punished you for it, or to kick them because they take a jet you want, or are in a tank you want to drive, pretty soon the only people who will be playing on your server are complete newbs who dont know better or tw'rs who want to be on the "5150 leet" servers. Either way you will be playing with the 2 crowds you really dont want to be playing with eventually, the ones who throw drama at you daily here, or complete newbs.

There is a difference between ego and legit kicks the question is do you care enough to make sure that your admins are professional about it or has 5150 gotten such big heads they really think their shit dont stink? (Honest question btw not trying to start flames)

Refried, I think you're very much upset because there hasn't been much defense from what I've read. I think some of us actually might still care about the TW community as individuals, but not as a whole. As you can surely see, you don't see slam, dread, or I attempting to defend our e-reputation.

I've been very honest with you about everything. If you can't see it for yourself...

Even my defense of Vir came down to "Hey guys, it's not cool to insult someone based on looks." But if that's what half the people in this thread has to grasp on to, that's their problem.

Shadow, you're missing the point bro. None of us have super egos or anything. Vir comes off like the way he does simply because it's TribalWar. If you actually start believing some of the stuff that's claimed on here, you need to rethink yourself man. Do you honestly believe we go around adminning the server the way we do and still have a population? This question goes for you too, Data. Have you guys not noticed over the years that it's always the same people that start these threads? They, too, are seeking some drama. The rest jump on the bandwagon thinkin refried actually cares and that he's pissed about being banned. This is all in good fun and laughs.

Seriously, there's been plenty of people that have spoken to us individually, in private, that know we're not this group of gigantic assholes who think our shit don't stink. We respect those that respect us. People on forums, in groups, tend to act differently, and we respect and enjoy the drama that TW provides for us as well.
