Baron Geddon

This is probably only our 4th time here and each boss encounter always ends up with us getting pwned first time, but then we learn pretty fast but, geddon is being a pain in the ass!

We have each time split up so we are around him in a semi circle, all the mana users have a priest to get rid of the Mana burn, we got the mod's for quickly pointing out whos the living bomb and have one guy shout it on vent for the noobs.

So, horde (no fucking paladin shield pulling shit).
A hunter gets his pet out and uses whatever they use to control it halfway down the hall towards the Baron, he pulls it with the pet, then he runs with aspect to us and warrior intervenes as he comes into the main hall, each time he gets Living Bombed THEN gets in the way of Inferno.

So we try with a mage getting off a few insta's to grab the inital agro and hit Ice Block or whatever the one that grants total immunity for 10s or something. Hopefully he has living bomb on him, or tried to be cast on him or something, then the warrios goes in, but he dies.

We have a shit load of backup tanks ready but I dunno, I was saying in vent that some people need to attack because if its just the warrior, he's 100% getting living bomb, but if people unload too fucking soon he runs around like an idiot, which seems to be the case all 4 times we tried.

So, we get the main tank doing his job, ran in with shield wall up and we have it going steady, other melee run in between inferno waves, then again someone is going a bit over the top with his damage and he run to a group of us.

Im guessing we are doing everything correctly and that it isthe idiots who forget to move with living bomb/forget to dispell Ignite and learn to manage damage/agro are the only problem?

Any ideas? :|

We use a hunter to pull with his pet, then pop him once and run to the tank.

He usually doesn't bomb anybody for a little bit, but after a few seconds you can start DPS.

If the tank gets living bomb, EVERY healer needs to just SPAM the crap out of him with heals, he will go flying, and come down and still have agro.

If your tank is dying, you need more healing. Make sure he gets out of the hellfire...

baron is one of the easiest bosses, you just need non-stupid members to not blow everyone up. There is no reason your tank should ever be dying as long as he doesn't stand in Baron's aoe like an idiot. Don't bother meleeing him, just use ranged dps to burn him down, takes longer but safer than meleeing him.

You can melee him just fine as long as you get out before the uber-pulses of his inferno. If you have people blowing up your raid with the bomb, start instituting penalties. Like... -30% of your total DKP if you bomb the raid. Whatever you want, but MAKE people not be fuckin stupid. That's one of the few fights where ONE person slacking can wipe everyone, easily.

baron geddon is an easy fight after you know how to take him on. the most important thing is that everyone is constantly checking their status for the bomb... having a sense of when you are/someone else is the bomb is key. if someone is the bomb (we have people on vent yell out who is the bomb) then they run towards the wall and blow up. once you get baron geddon pulled give the tank some time to build aggro(duh) and make sure your tank runs away when he does inferno. after that just blast him away with ranged damage, we dont even let rogues go melee so we just let them shoot with whatever ranged weapon they have(lolZ). also, once baron goes into inferno mode make sure everyone ceases fire as to not steal aggro from the MT. only one person should be in melee range of baron and that is the MT.

you should also have 2-3 shamans stay out of combat the entire fight to rez people after they blow up. it's a very long fight but its not very hard once you get use to it.

if someone blows up around others, they are simply removed from the raid immediately. this strategy seems to work best.
