Terra 06-01-2005, 03:51 PM randomly after i turn in some quests, the internet will disconnect. i'm fairly sure it resets my nic card (onboard) or something. i usually have to reset my dsl modem and refresh ip :|
anyone else having this probs? or know if this is a known issue?
Anguish 06-01-2005, 06:09 PM sdfsdf
PoorDoggy 06-01-2005, 07:13 PM Hrm.
I've been having connection problems, but I didn't think that it would be WOW related. At random times (doesn't matter if I turn in a quest or not) I'll get disconnected and my cable modem will reset and be unable to contact the DHCP server, sometimes for 10+ minutes, even if I exit WOW.
But how would a game prevent my modem from contacting the DHCP server, especially after it is closed?
Dragon 06-02-2005, 01:49 AM ive had this exact problem a buncha times...dunno what to do
Helado 06-02-2005, 02:27 AM Do you have a nforce mboard w/ onboard nic or an intel pro 100 based chip?
PoorDoggy 06-02-2005, 03:25 AM NForce onboard NIC, yeah.
chunky munky 06-02-2005, 07:09 AM my buddy's internet conn goes down every time he enters or leaves an instance.
PessimiStick 06-02-2005, 07:22 AM I know exactly what to change to fix this, lemme find it...
Go to Network Connections, properties.
Configure your NIC, Advanced Tab.
Set "Checksum Offload" to disabled.
That will fix it. Was having the same problem a while ago, that fixed it 100%.

I can't find this option. I'm using the onboard NIC on my Abit NF7-S (Nforce). The 'Advanced' tab has:
Network Address
Optimize For
Speed/duplex settings
Wake on LAN
:(
