Slobax 05-30-2005, 01:57 PM So i'm a victim of the reroll bug, and can't pick a class to stick with for the life of me. Made a paladin to 38, then ever since then i've just rerolled to 15'ish multiple times. So...
What made you pick your class/race combo? (mainly class) What makes them fun to you? (example: you love being wanted so you play a priest, you love being in the center of the chaos, so you played a warrior, you love nuking, mage, etc)
this should help me alittle, so i can see why people love _their_ class decision.
TonyElTigre 05-30-2005, 02:07 PM ive been rerolling around everything and the only class ive really enjoyed is warlock
Slobax 05-30-2005, 02:20 PM i've also enjoyed warlock, but i get the feeling only having like 2 pets that are useful will get old fast
Father Ruckus 05-30-2005, 03:04 PM played a paladin from 1 - 60, had fun from 1 - 45, paladins need work :( and i dont have the drive to lvl up another toon
TeckMan 05-30-2005, 03:22 PM warlock is probably the most powerful 1v1 class with the possible exception of priest or shaman. undead rogues will dominate you however, and the class is extremely frustrating with the constant need for soulshards.
I play a night elf hunter it can be fun but I don't recommend it.
Helado 05-30-2005, 03:43 PM Tried Druid and Shamans in stresstest up until mid 20's and decided that for group play I only really liked healing, so I decided to go priest.
Thrakesh 05-30-2005, 03:45 PM I levelled a palidan to 47, got sick of the drudgery. Leveled a Mage to mid 30s, got tired of drinking after every other fight.
I now have a 22 warrior, and I am enthused atm.
Few other lowbies in other classes.
Defaced 05-30-2005, 04:01 PM Played a frost spec undead mage to 60 first, really enjoyed it for the solo capabilities and the ownage of melee classes in pvp. Started undead because 8 of us all started and wnated the same startign area. And I like Undead as mages more than trolls.
Started making alts after that. 36 NE hunter, was fun for awhile. Stopped playing him because nobody else was playing on the server.
27 priest, also fun for a little while, but it got old for me because soloing was very tough compared to other chars.
Troll rogue that is currently 54, he's a blast to play. I am not saving for my mages epic mount, so I can afford to twink him. A better solo'er than my mage due to stealthing. I love being able to kill 2-3-4 even level mobs at once or a single even level elite mob. (Combat sword spec). I can also kill pretty much any class I get the jump on thanks to the new pvp trinket.
Warrior that I got to 20. I didn't really enjoy playing him. He kills fairly quick, but I pretty much have to find a healer to group with in order to really do anything.
Shaman that is now 28. Another fun class for soloing, and again good at pvp. The heals make him more versatile and easier to keep in a fight than my previous pure dps classes.
So far my favorite professions are skinning and herbalism/alchemy. My main is a tailor/enchanter and I am not really a fan.
I guess I picked my classes for their solo-leveling and pvp viability. Also, as a mage it feels good to be needed. Although constant tells to come for pick-up runs of start/scholo/ubrs gets old quick.
Violent 05-30-2005, 05:08 PM i have a tauren warrior in hopes that they will make chieftan a playable hero class... where i can get a large tree as a hammer, endurance aura, and shockwave
i have a 50 dwarf hunter
picked dwarf b/c i only play them in these type of games, heh. comes from back when i played EQ and had a dwarf warrior.
picked hunter for no reason really. didn't know the classes and was told hunters could solo awesome. (i dont like grouping unless its with ppl i know. although instances have helped that alot compared with eq)
also have a paladin and mage in the teens, but nothing really stood out with them.
StarZ 05-30-2005, 09:27 PM 60 undead warlock, thought it was fun until about 45.. just DoT'ing and fearing over and over got boring
60 troll hunter, pretty fun to play, ranged class for pvp is nice in the zerg, great in pve for solo'ing, just not much group "needness"
51 undead rogue, just a pve toon that i use to farm materials for enchanting mostly
i think my hunter is the most fun for me, i just wish i went orc on my hunter for the passive 5% bonus dmg for pets
if you want to try out a horde character on a pvp server look me up on shadow moon, Zinka or Boma, I can help you out with lower levels and know a lot of the horde quests now
**Majin Buu** 05-30-2005, 10:04 PM Started a paladin with friends, got him to 15 and decided he was the most boring pos ever, so I made a NE rogue, and then remember I had made a promise to make a gnome rogue, and thats what I have stuck with. Love the little guy so much. Leveling up a mage at the moment, level 30 right now.
Smaqaho 05-30-2005, 10:12 PM 60 Tauren Hunter - rolled tauren because SP's only other hunter at release was going Orc and we couldn't decide if the bonus hp% was better than the +axe skill of orcs. I like grinding out solo on it because of tracking, and PvE isn't too bad with feign death but for the most part I hate playing it unless someone needs help.
47ish Undead Priest - Wanted to roll a new class because hunter was boring me and it was between mage and priest. Mage for poly ability in PvP (I wanted to roll up, sheep someone while they were questing, and just run off laughing) and priest for healing and shadowspec 1v1 PvP. I've only played a couple weeks on it but so far it's a blast. I haven't hit levels where it's "a needed class" for the most part but I dont' have issues finding groups at all because of reputation or class need. I spend about the same amount on mana drinks as I did on arrows for hunter, so really it's no more of a money maker which was disappointing.
NE druid - Played one in beta (to 20), and thought it was pretty fun so i made another Bit disapointed at 60, not sure why
NE rogue - Knew the NE starting area, although now i wish i had chosen dwarf or gnome, as their racial abilities are sweet, and shadowmelb is much more usefull for casters who need to drink.
Climax 05-30-2005, 11:09 PM Chuck shadowmeld on a hotkey, it helps and makes it so you dont need rapid concealment if you go for a quick kill ^_^
I've began using it alot recently
Bodom 05-30-2005, 11:10 PM played a rogue to 27 and didnt like it so much. rolled a hunter til 16 but didnt seem happy with it. thought shamans looked pretty cool and heard they were a pretty fun class to play. created orc shaman and played it to 60.
started a hunter again and got him to 9 then stopped and just dicked around on my shaman. then i rolled an undead rogue for PVP shits and giggles and took him to 60.
went back to the hunter for breaks. he was sitting and 25 bringing up his engineering and just found out a day ago i had to be 35 for artisan engineering. currently at level 30 and no rest xp =[
PsioniX 05-30-2005, 11:46 PM i have a 41 druid, a 21 mage, and a 22 paladin on one server
all are fun, i might go back to being my druid for a while
but right now Im having tons of fun with my tauren hunter
Slobax 05-31-2005, 12:09 AM i picked gnome mage for now. starting fresh on him, though he has the best gnome name ever: Jawaswag
Raven 05-31-2005, 12:26 AM I rolled what I thought was a melee hybrid and got a class thats gimped at 60, is annoying to play, and annoying to play against.
The paladin needs serious work, and I don't mean a straight buff. I mean a rework of the class. Because ATM, its just not fun. Not fun to play, and not fun to play against.
I know its frustrating to swing at something thats immune. But its not that fun inside the bubble either.
Ciceron 05-31-2005, 12:40 AM Played a Tauren War to the mid 30s, then jumped on the Paly-wagon and got her to mid 50s, then got super bored of her. I had the reroll bug for quite a while until I decided to make a Tauren War again and got it to 27.
I like the char, but WoW just got... "bleh." Mostly because my level 60 babysitters ;) don't play anymore.
