Host your own WoW server? :o

I've only scanned over it myself, but apparently you can host your own server, or at least play on theirs. Might be worth checking out if you're bored at work or lonely :p

Yea, I've got this installed and tries playing on a few and hosting my own. It works out fine except there is some major lag. It can take minutes just to attack a target. It also kind of defeats the purpose of this being an MMO too.

i tried doing this with DAoC after trials of atlantis and new frontiers and all that gay shit ruined the game. The player run shards blow ass. They're run out of some dudes basement and go down every 10 minutes if theres more than 50 poeple on the server and it's buggy as shit. Also, as this is most defintely against blizzards EULA for wow you risk getting your real account banned if you get in trouble.

I did my own after the FilePlanet beta in September. In order for me to play with other people, I had to get rid of all the monster spawns because my computer was lagged to shit.

r00fies, tehmonkey, and some others played on it for the three days that it was new before it got boring because you couldn't do anything besides the admin stuff.

Speaking of the admin stuff, I still have that "how-to" guide I wrote still up (this was when the ` brought down the console.)

I never checked, but both places are instanced now so don't go looking for them. ;)
