Batters
Morgan Ensberg, 3b, HOU - Numbers from last 15 games:
- 22 hits on 48 ABs (.458)
- 9 runs
- 11 RBIs
- 5 HRs (including a 3 HR game on 5/15)
Ensberg is now batting 5th in the order as Lance Berkman's protection and his numbers in the last 15 games speak for themselves. He hit 25 HRs in 2003, so he's demonstrated before that he can sustain power.
Adam LaRoche,1b, ATL - Numbers since 5/04:
- 13 hits on 35 ABs (.372)
- 8 runs
- 17 RBIs
- 4 HRs
LaRoche is currently day-to-day from a leg inury, but espn.com reports that it's not serious, so he shouldn't miss too many at bats.
Shannon Stewart,OF, MIN - Numbers since 04/25:
- 23 hits on 77 ABs (.299)
- 17 runs
- 11 RBIs
- 3 HRs
Stewart is batting leadoff and has hit safely in all but four games since April 25th. Minnesota's offense is improving with the return of Justin Morneau and stewart has been a hot batter for nearly a month now.
Pitchers
Kenny Rogers,SP, TEX - While he probably won't maintain his numbers the whole year, rogers is putting up numbers similar to Jon Garland so far. He has not allowed a run in 4 starts (30 innings) and in those four games he has a 1.03 WHIP. He hasn't really pitched a bad game yet, so ride him until his hot streak is over.
Chris Capuano,SP, MIL - After a rough start to the season, Capuano has post four straight good games, throwing six k's in each of the last three games. Three of those games included starts against the cardinals, cubs, mets (all good hitting teams)... his average numbers: 2.66 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.
