The portable shredder unit you can get in battlegrounds takes 75 iron 50 mithril 25 thorium. It has an item duration of 3 days, and it's usable every 45 minutes. The shredder hits for 800 damage a hit on cloth wearers, has a ton of HP (probably 30,000 or more), and has an aoe attack that hits for 860 and causes 5% durability loss to everyone hit by it.

It's a channeling summon. You summon it, then remote control it to wherever during its duration. It's duration is at least 10+ minutes if it's not killed. The range on it seems to be unlimited. (Friend got it and brought it all the way to the field of strife, where it ended up dying to Lokholar after Lokholar was on it for 45s to a minute).

Anyways, it's well worth the mat cost. I'm buying out all the mats I can now before the price skyrockets.

I hoper youre right, i emptied iron forge today. It worked for Essence of Undeath. I think it was here someone had said its going to be changed to a rare drop. I bought up a bunch for 75 s, i have three stacks or so , and i see its going for 5-7 gold now.

Neither. It's just mining. You hand in the mats (75 iron 50 mithril 30 thorium) to a goblin, and you get the shredder.

sounds cool... but i think you are overestimating the impact this will have on the prices for those mats.

it's not THAT important compared to all the other crap that requires mithril and thorium.

that is only 3-4 hours of work for a miner.

Shit, I wish I would have known about this sooner. I had a TON of iron and mithril a few days ago when I levelling mining from 1 to 300.

Few questions:

Where is the goblin located?

To clarify, you rescue the goblin from a cave and he comes to your camp. Then you simply hand in the materials and you receive the shredder. After you click the item, you gain control of the shredder (You gain control for 30 minutes or until it dies, the cooldown is 45 minutes. So you could potentially be using it 2/3rds of the time that you're playing). It's remote control with an unlimited range. You could spawn it in Dun Baldar, and walk it down to the Frostwolf base if you wanted to. It's a bit bugged at the moment, where if you run it too far away from where you are, you won't gain CP for kills and it'll appear red (still not attackable though) to friendly troops.

As for the shredder stats itself, I used it the other day and need to clarify a few things on it. It has 30,000 hp, hits for 600 a hit on cloth (attacks pretty fast), and has a cone aoe that has a 30 second cooldown. The cone aoe does 800-860 damage to everyone in the cone, in addition to 5% durability loss on whoever gets hit by it. If you're in range of the shredder (bug doesen't kick in till like 100 yards or more from what I saw), all nearby allies can heal/buff it. Finally, in addition to all that, you actually get the shredder for a lot more than 3 days. Because of how the "Duration: xxx" mod works on items, it's counting duration as actual time online, and not real time. So you get quite a lot of use out of it for the investment of materials required to get it.
