i run through EP, mainly the eastern side. it seems to be the best run from what i have tried.

i get roughly 1 arcane crystal per day.

for some reason my vers of photoshop wont open .tga files, otherwise i would post a ss. lemme work on it and see if i cant get it to work.

download.com has a program called ifranview that opens tga's, can also save them to jpg with it

The absolute BEST place is in the elite demon cave in Winterspring if you have a good group.

Other than that, Eastern Plaguelands and Burning Steppes.

got a map for steppes? I can never find much there

no ss map, mostly s and w side

cut back before dreadmaul rock, rinse and repeat

I used BS as well when farming for a reaper. Took me about a week to get all the Arcanite.

4 arcane crystals a day? thats odd, on my server one a day is actually better than avarage, and the average of most ppl on the mining forums (aka, all other servers).

i pulled my first arcane crystal in un'guro.

burning steppes looks ideal, but my rogue miner is still only lvl 51 and that's makes me honor bait.

winterspring looks good for lvl 60, but you gonna be ready to grind some in this caves.

im liking un'guro right now cuz the few spots can be matched along with my other farming/grinding needs. as i level up, it looks like i'll move to steppes or EPL.

I averaged 4 a day for 5 days. (20 for Reaper). You will go through stretches where you will get none, then 3 in < 2 minutes. Hell, I've gotten 2 from the same vein before.

anybody figured out the timer on these?

in circling the un'guro plume ridge, ive concluded that a vein pops in among the series of 4-5 spots there once every 20-22 minutes.

anybody confirm or done other timing?

i guess you guys are lucky then. it took me about 2 weeks to farm 15 or so crystals, and from others on my server tell me, i was lucky to get that many. i too have gotten 3 in a matter of minutes, but the law of averages always wins.

also, if i was getting 4 a day, thats all i woud be doing (i still don't have my epic mount :/ ), you could rack up thousands in gold in less than a month easy.

i will spend more time in burning steppes to see if i get a better drop rate. if i notice a higher drop rate, i'll post here.

gold is pointless though once you have your epic and items :(

edit: and I've given away about 30-40 crystals to guild + friends :sunny:

darkwhisper gorge in WS is the best place you can go

almost always deserted since it's full of elites, quite easy to solo mine there for a couple of hours with no interruptions

something like 10 possible spawn locations there too
