I'm using all seeing eye, and I enter into a server liek MajorGeeks. Within just a few seconds my game closes. This happens on every server.

I just joined major geeks through ASE to test it out and it worked fine for me.

Well, my tribes just crashes if I get disconnected from a server. IE: Kicked, or don't have the right client side files.

If I try to join again, I crash to desktop.

Any ideas?

It's not crashing for you guys. It's what's supposed to happen when you start the game with the +connect switch (which all seeing eye does). Fix: Open console.cs and go to the section that starts with the line 'else if($connectAddress != "")' - Edit the line below that that says $quitOnDisconnect = true;. Set it to false. ;)

For me it is actually a crash to desktop on a kick or disconnect. I'm NOT using ASE.

I remember this being a problem a while back, but I forgot the fix, maybe it was a patch fix, and last hope broke it?

If I get kicked from a server, and then I try to rejoin any game, I get dumped back to the desktop.

So it's cashing when rejoining after being kicked.. The culprit could be anything.. Impossible to even guess without digging through your whole config. It's most likely script related though, not exe. Especially if you're using lasthope, which includes everything you need patch-wise.

Turn on logging and see what the last lines say before crash.

Yes, this must be it. Thanks :sunny:

Nope, still no go. Would you like to host or email me your cosole.cs file?

I would much appreciate it. Thanks

I would much appreciate it. ThanksThis must mean ASE actually starts the game as a host, which is another part of console.cs. For simplicity just set all instances of $quitondisconnect you have in console.cs to false. You'll probably never want it to do that anyway. :)

OK thanks. I will give it a run today. We will see.

Nope, still no go. Can you just host your console.cs file for me, or email it to Tiny@rap4.com?

I just want to play T1. :teer:

Damn.. It's never easy.. :{

My console.cs isn't going to help if you already tried the quitondisconnect thing.

How about you post your console.log from one of these crashes? Put these lines in autoexec.cs;

$console::printlevel = 3;
$console::logmode = 1;

..go crash, then post the log. It usually doesn't reveal much, but it's worth a shot.

OK, will do this, but I don't see how hard it would be for someone to post their console.cs for me to test out, as I think that would be just as easy. I may have screwed something up somehow.

Seems more like a script/skin problem to me. Change your video settings in tribes to TNT/TNT2. I had the same problem and that fixed it for me. If that still doenst work remove all your skins and try again.

There's much better configs out there, without all the garbage.

Just download Tribes from www.tribes0.com and grab Andrews config, much better than wasting your time with that mess of a version.

Do these have hi-rez textures already installed?

I really like the visual end, along with the inventory script.
