Looks like SWAT 4 is having very similar problems to T:V, and once again a patch is being promised. Lets get the word out NOW to the SWAT community, and let them know what happened to us, so it doesn't happen to them. VUG cannot be trusted to keep its word.

vug or iga?

Got Haggis?

SWAT 4 seems to have some of the same bugs that T:V had (the sound one specifically)
to me, that means that IG is to blame as well as VUG..not VUG only. but anyway, yeah i'm not going to waste any more of time with VUG

Yaya I know it's a waste to time. But I feel like some one has to make sure the SWAT guys know what happened to us, so they can make sure it doesn't happen to them too. If I get to kick VUG or any one else related to the abandonment of Tribes along the way, it's worth it.

we are now known as the "T:V fiasco". I think the swat players can make the decision for themselves whether or not to trust VUgames. I, as eloquently stated by my sig, no longer trust them.

vug or iga?

IGA has put out two shitters in a row, and they're the direct cause of the problems with T:V and now Swat 4....

VUG contracted the fuckers, IGA couldn't cut the check in ither case...end of story.

I trust IG, but yeah i think its fair to question whether or not a product produced by anyone under Vugames will be worth a download or purchase.

While I like most things about the game, I fully recognize it simply isn't complete or bug free.

IGA did the patch, VUG squashed it, no?

From past threads; the patch was having difficulties with other 3rd parties. One may have been the punk buster team and it could have led to a no agreement between the two.

The patch consist of:
1. Punk Buster
2. Map fixes

Had the agreement between the punk buster team and VUG or IG failed then all that would be left of the patch is

1. Map fixes

You're welcome to bring up other points. I will say this. T2 did not have a patch issue. There was a patch every day it seemed. So why all the sudden a problem with the patches now? Could it be because as those that know system development lifestyle that implementing last minute changes is darn right difficult?

it sounds like for swat4 they added to the game, not took away from which is what happened in our case.

Who knows?

Either way; T:V and Swat 4, both, showcase IGA's quality workmanship.[/ExtremeSarcasm]

Moderators:
There is no patch announced as yet. As the game has been out only a few weeks I doubt there will be one very soon, if at all.
here may be one next year. There may be one next month. There may never be one, ever. There may be one that adds purple lycra undies to every Officer or the ability to fly.

and good site:
http://www.10-david.com/?p=news_item&id=803

The past couple days here on 10-David have seen a series of hot discussions over the likelihood of a patch materializing from SWAT 4. Fans have expressed concern over issues with SWAT 4, after seeing Vivendi pull the plug on Tribes: Vengeance support. In short, Tribes: Vengeance's support was apparently discontinued due to a lack of sales. Today Vivendi's PR rep, Menzo, came on the 10-David boards to post an official response to this mounting concern. Here's the full (official) response:

The biggest thing we learned from Tribes:Vengeance is to be very careful about what we do and do not announce.

This is why we haven't said anything about anything.

We're very pleased with how SWAT 4 is selling and think our reviews, which have been universally stellar, show that Irrational Games + SWAT = gaming goodness.

I'm sorry that some of you have issues with a portion of the multiplayer part of the game, but to suggest that this makes the game unplayable or broken is really blowing things out of proportion.

I would only ask that those of you who are going to hold the T:V extravaganza against us (which is fair) try to balance things by presenting the whole picture. SWAT 4 is a great game and it's fun (in my opinion). If you do not agree with that statement, I would suggest that you return the game now and not wait for a patch.

If, however, you are like most people and agree that it's great but could use a little tweaking here and there, your patience will be rewarded. There is more SWAT love coming.

Menzo has made it clear that Vivendi will announce its plans for future support when it's ready. Given the fact that SWAT 4 was released only 1 week ago, it may be too soon to expect a major patch for SWAT 4.

Like they actually announced more than "patch in the making" for T:V.
