dark horizons and legends, and i have to say, there is that sliiightest trace of the same people that made t1; something about the way the game loads or feels dunno.

the two games both feel floaty to me, things tend to coast too much, and of course both had 0 online, but the quality isn't bad, at least in terms of performance. it'd really be nice to see it ramped up with art.

is there a game out there thats made bigger changes to its core? whether its interesting physics work, or art...

If you want to try something cool, even if it is corny, try Rocket Bowl, that kicks ass to waste some time with.

Legends does feel way too floaty, after playing T1 / T:V.

The thing that bugs the hell out of me since playing T:V is sliding down the side of a mountain after blowing a ski route. It used to annoy me in T1 to no end.

I really like the way T:V handles the release of the ski key. You kind of "walk off" the speed you built up.

i do like in t:v how you can look around without worrying about your vector changing...

Gish is an awesome game.

I may get trashed for saying it...but try Marble Blast. One of the funnest things I've done recently is ski around the terrain with the marble. (Not in the game, but still fun)

I agree about the "floaty" feel. It's something I've been messing with. The wierd thing about game physics is that just because they are realistic doesn't mean they feel good.

floaty feel is probably related to the ability of being able to change directions rather quickly while jetting...unless im wrong

Gish is an awesome SP album too ;)

the floaty feeling is definately not helped by the terrain texture being fucking massive compared to the player.. (not the texture size, the area its applied over)

Yeah, the T1 terrain actually has better texel resolution. I'm personally of the opinion that the T1 terrain is better than the T2 terrain, even though the T2 terrain is more flexable. This is vastly improved in the new TSE terrain (as you can see from screenshots)

Legends does feel way too floaty, after playing T1 / T:V.

Legends does feel floaty, but T2C doesnt feel as floaty. You'd think they can do the same.

that's cuz Legends ain't Tribes ;)

I've kinda gotten fond of the whole forward momentum thing. You can get up some really ridiculous speed, but it takes practice not only in controlling movement, but also the speed itself.

I'll adjust wherever they wind up putting it, but I like the challenge of how it is now. Puts a new factor in player control that I'm certain 99.9% of all ppl will groan about cuz it ain't like T1/T2c lol!

Legends feels floaty after playing Legends even.

And I agree that the textures don't help it. Anyone remember their depth perception going down the drain when dueling inside the huge Xtremeski bases that had the textures stretched x10?

Fuck the excuses...it's floaty.

well, you know, floatyness happens in real life too. i recall this being brought up in another thread. its called air-time. its not a bug in the game, its probably the porportions of player to terrain that make it appear overly floaty.

Tip: None of these excuses change the fact that it feels floaty as fuck.
