Legends Expectations:

This is in response to all of the high expectations and praise that are suddenly being heaped on us out of the blue.

Look, if you guys are going to expect us to be tribes or compete with that kind of level, look elsewhere. Seriously. Go play T2 classic (which is really quite fun, honestly) or t1 (if you can find anyone on any non-LT servers) or T:V (if you can find anyone). Better yet - go check out Planetside. It's a pretty good game.

Yes, I think that we will be putting out an amazing game. It's already a great, fun diversion. No, I do not think that we will be able to compete with Tribes on ANY (ANY!) level at all. We don't AIM to, ffs. We are in this to put out a game that -we-, as a team, want to play. If TW doesn't like the game.... oh, well, I guess that sucks that we'll lose a few hundred players.

Honestly, it's very strange - a year ago, Legends was met with only scorn and derision on these forums. Legends was laughed at mercilessly. I was told to pack the team in and give it up more times than I can count - and by some of you who are now loving Legends.

Well, now that your precious Sierra/IG/VUG has failed you and your gaming needs, where do you turn? An amateur game that hasn't done anything to satisfy your needs in the past. Don't put your expectations on us, please. Yes, I am thrilled about the support people are showing now, but I know damned well what TW support really is like and I know damned well that if we TRIED to please TW, we'd wind up making a shit game and having a heart attack while we tried.

Here's what you CAN expect: the Legends team will make the best game we can with the resources we have in our spare time. We will work tirelessly to ensure bug-free operation. We will actively fight cheats and exploits in the future. We will not suck.

Sorry if this sounds a bit irate - I am just very sick of saying "STOP EXPECTING A TRIBES GAME FROM US".

legends should be free to be its own game. expectations will only make another t:v.

We will put something amazing together and who knows how well it will do:) We have an amazing group of people working on this and if you think about where torque started to where Legends is at they have done amazing things already:)

as an FYI - we wrote a lot of what is now in torque head. it's not like we took TGE and just put our own models in and POOF had legends.

Don't worry I don't expect much from Legends, I dled and played it for a bit today which is why I feel that way.

Legends doesn't suck its just not complete. It would be like playing tribes before they finished. But those of you who judge it for its current stage only encourage dev teams to not allow early betas.

Ya it isn't complete and I will play different versions as they come out, but why play a game that is trying to be like tribes when T1 and T2 are both free now and have done a better job?
