JongyFong 03-25-2005, 01:53 AM I spent $50 for a game that was released buggy as hell, unfinished, and hasn't had an ounce of support since launch. I've been promised a phantom patch for months and was reassured of its progress as recently as this week and now the game is officially dead. Isn't there anything that can be done to get some sort of compensation because this is fucking rediculous. I've NEVER heard of an established company acting in this way and I'm pissed the hell off, not so much that Tribes is dead but that we've all been completely screwed over and I'm certain those "in the know" were well aware of T:V's fate within a week of shipping. This sucks fat cock...Death to VUG
Staples 03-25-2005, 03:05 AM Pirate each and all games from VUG to make sure you never get ripped off again. That is the best I can come up with.
DigitalFiction 03-25-2005, 03:07 AM Right, because that obviously allows illegal activity. Have fun w/ the FBI knocking on your door with a four foot strap-on ready for your ass.

You obviously have no idea.
Total 03-25-2005, 03:14 AM hate to tell everyone, but T:V was on the newsgroups within a week of release and even that didn't pull more players in.
Dispatch 03-25-2005, 03:33 AM I think it was a combination of bad timing with other game releases and gamers not knowing what to expect. I know people who hear jetpacks and refuse to try it. ::shruggs::
EasyTarget 03-25-2005, 03:35 AM You can dress it up and try to make it smell/look better, but in the end its still crap and most people know that.
GreyFlcn 03-25-2005, 12:11 PM Well in any implementation process of something with the public
The real answer is to invite them in on it.
As often as possible.
That way the community feels a connection to having their needs heard.
For instance, I can basically assume T:V wouldn't have been that bad had they changed about a dozen minor things, and a few major ones.
Pachacutec 03-25-2005, 12:33 PM all we really need right now is demo fixing and tourney lag.
I would to have the source to the skiing/command screen code, so the community could mod those and make real versions... (looks like its custom c++, can anyone confirm?)
Rooster128 03-25-2005, 12:37 PM Remember when we first heard about a new tribes game being made and how warm and fuzzy it made us feel inside?
They played with our emotions and trashed us at the end. This is worser than a really hot hot girl dumping you... SCREW YOU VUG!
Rev_Night 03-25-2005, 01:39 PM vug is full of french niggers.
You could always move on, somewhat poorer yes, but also somewhat wiser.

That sounds like a plausable base for emotional damages.
The best thing you can do is get the word out and make sure everyone you know knows what VUG has done and to never purchase another VUG product from them ever again.
It's the only way to send the message home.
Rip thier shit off and make hax for every game they make.
Post on every forum board you visit how VU has fucked the everyday consumer.
Send terrorists to their offices to murder them and their families.
Piss on their french coward gravestones.
Shall I continue?
