Every time I stated that T:V did more damage to Tribes then it did good, I got flamed.

But now, for sure, no developer will ever touch the Tribes name again, nor will any gamer.

T2 may have split the community, but atleast it added a lot of life to the community. T:V took any chances of a Tribes 3 comming out, and flushed them down the drain.

So we have a few options. Spam VU for T1 source. Spam VU for rights to use all proprieties assosiated with Tribes, and from there, update T1, and then pay File Planet to put it on its front page for everyone to download free.

I think 100 to 300 emails, plus 25 to 75 phone calls a day, should do the job.

For File Planet, I think we can afford that. Everyone pitch in a few bucks.

The engine will cost $150ish? Or is it more? I'm sure plenty of people would be more then happy to port T1 to it, so I think we would be good to go.

as much fun as t1 was, t2 grew on me. id rather see the community have the t2 source than the t1. plus the dedicated gamers "us" are not expanding. so we might as well go for a better looking game like t2. t1 wont get one single person over.

The great thing about T2 is it satisifes both the new base style of player AND with T2C, a Tribes game that I would even rank above T1 base. The only reason I held hope for TV was that it took awhile before T2 actually evolved into a better game and revealed its great game design after the release of patch 25034.
