Now wait just a damn minute here. I was all happy beliving you untill you posted those pics of the machete's. My old man is in San Diego Search and Rescue and he has a machete. Looks just like the ones you posted. I have also seen those martial arts competition things on TV, and the ones THEY used don't look ANYTHING like the ones you posted.

Yeah, we use regular old Ace Hardware $10 special machetes. They aren't for tournaments or anything like that. Kali, the Filipino martial art, uses sticks which are basically a training substitute for the real weapon, a machete.

My instructor and I use the machetes for certain training drills. Working with a live blade coming at you gives you a healthy respect for knives and fighting in general.
