...just asking around and have done some research on the net, but really haven't turned up with much. So I come to TW alas!
Recently (for about 4 months now), whenever I download anything and try to extract it (usually being a compressed file of some sort: .zip, .rar or even somtimes an .exe), I'll encounter a "Data Corrupt" error and have bad CRC checks constantly. The funny thing is if I don't mess with my computer WHILE it's extracting the file it has a better chance of successfully being extracted w/out a bad CRC check; pretty odd, I know.
I've read on several other forums and google'd links that this could be something to do with a defective network card, so I've gone ahead and replaced that, but still no luck. The only thing I can think of being my problem is having faulty memory, which seems highly unlikely considering the RAM I've got now is brand new (ordered from Newegg; Corsair XMS DDR).
If it is the RAM though I wouldn't be suprised because I've also been experiencing a lot of "Memory Reference" errors such as:
The instruction at 00524f1e referenced memory at f6de433a. The memory could not be written.
