Well instead of fixing the hunter they continued to eviscerate the hunter. Going to play my priest pretty much exclusivly now. Pretty much any class can be on par with me DPS wise at range now.
no longer playng my hunterGwaihir 03-22-2005, 11:19 PM Well instead of fixing the hunter they continued to eviscerate the hunter. Going to play my priest pretty much exclusivly now. Pretty much any class can be on par with me DPS wise at range now. Piata 03-22-2005, 11:26 PM I'm switching over to my Druid. Tacky Tricky 03-23-2005, 12:34 AM the servers are still acting like coma patients. what did they do to the hunter?!?! Helado 03-23-2005, 01:12 AM I heard some rumors about fear as well. :o Gwaihir 03-23-2005, 08:04 AM Allthey did for hunter was gimp it. They fixed the few bugs that gave hunters an unfair advantage like immune pets and things like that. THen they went ahead and decreased the bonus on the quivers and ammo pouches while increasing the leather requirments for making them. There were NO class improvments like every other class received. Mages got their 60 water but we still dont have 60 ammo, no abilities to aid in high end instances, in fact the "fixes" they made lower our ranged DPS significantly making our only real selling point (highest sustained ranged DPS) no longer true. A rogue equipped with a bow can pretty much match a hunter (not decked out in uber gear) in range DPS. Hunter's still have craptacular melee attack. Wendel 03-23-2005, 09:39 AM I can't find anything in the patch notes that speak of nerfing the Hunter. Pets - Pets, summons and guardians are not susceptible to charm. - Pets should be much better at chasing moving targets. - Pets and summons will use their combat abilities as often as possible. - When your pet or demon learns new spells and abilities they will show up on the pet action bar. - The pet action bar is greyed out while the pet is confused or fleeing Hunter - Glimpse of Instincts: Removed. - Outdoorsmanship skill line renamed Survival. - Ranged Combat skill line renamed Marksmanship. - Removed facing requirement from Hunter's Mark and Scare Beast. - Aspect of the Cheetah: Speed increased. - Aspect of the Pack: Speed increased. - Concussive Shot: No longer causes additional threat, duration and cooldown slightly increased, mana cost reduced. - Disengage: Effect boosted, cooldown added. - Hunter's Mark: Duration increased, dispels itself if the Hunter dies. - Mongoose Bite: Damage increased, mana cost increased. - Scare Beast: Increased the chance of breaking early. - Wing Clip: Slow effect now scales with level. - Feign Death: Duration increased. - New Spell: Track Beasts (Level 1). - New Spell: Track Humanoids (Level 10). - New Spell: Track Undead (Level 18). - New Spell: Track Hidden (Level 24). - New Spell: Track Elementals (Level 26). - New Spell: Track Demons (Level 32). - New Spell: Track Giants (Level 40). - New Spell: Track Dragonkin (Level 50). - New Spell: Distracting Shot (Level 12). - New Spell: Aspect of the Wild (Level 46). - Training costs adjusted. Actual damage is unchanged. - Scare Beast: Beasts now have an increasing chance to break free of the effect, such that it is unlikely the effect will last more than 15 seconds. - Polearm proficiency can now be learned by Hunters, Paladins, Warriors. - Mind Control and Hunter's Mark flag you for PvP when used on enemy players. prowler 03-23-2005, 10:06 AM it's probably in bug fixes, like where all the rogue nerfs are Sojourn 03-23-2005, 10:17 AM Rumorville has it that it has to do with a haste bug that helped Hunters. They were unable to find the bug previously, and it provided a 14% increase in Hunter DPS so they adjusted the DPS of the hunter in some way. Well, they fixed the haste bug, and didn't readjust the hunter DPS accordingly. rukkus 03-23-2005, 10:19 AM basically what happened was quivers and ammo pouches were granting double the haste they should have been. (not the exploit where you can equip an ammo pouch and quiver for even more haste) The problem is that they have known about this since beta and have been balancing ranged weapons and hunter damage in general around this bug. by cutting the haste in half they have nerfed our autoshot DPS by around 14%. They also nerfed Snarler for his resists and they changed the Spire Spiderling from 1.0 attack speed to 1.5. There wasn't much reason to play a hunter in the first place for high lvl content. Wendel 03-23-2005, 11:34 AM so riddle me this, is there a way for me to create another char on the same server and somehow give my new char all of my loot? Wendel 03-23-2005, 12:21 PM ok, the mail... duh I am going to start a mage tonight. :D Gwaihir 03-23-2005, 12:47 PM Training costs adjusted. Total training cost was decreased. Sandfury Guardians are no longer tameable. Fixed a bug where Hunter pets were sometimes unattackable by opposing faction players. Fixed a bug where creatures were keeping their innate resistances after being tamed. This was unintentional and the fix will affect all existing pets. Distracting Shot - Is now properly improved by the Efficiency and Hawk Eye talents. You can no longer use Eyes of the Beast to leave a flight path. + the quiver hotfix they put in. There are some other stealth changes that might be in becasue pretty much every hunter I know has noticed a marked decrease in DPS. all gimps except for the training decrease but all classes got that. It isn't so much that they particularly nerfed Hunters but they buffed all other classes in some way. We just got "bug fixes" that reduce our abilities. paramount 03-23-2005, 01:27 PM Well the two classes that got the greatest amount of buff attempts were the Druids and Warriors, which I think we can all agree could have used the improvements. I understand that the Hunter community is frustrated with the changes regarding pets and DPS but it's not like they are the martyrs of WOW. For instance, my priest didn't get buffed, all Blizzard did was sort of 'de-nerf' our shielding which they did awhile ago. However, I think Blizzard has some very specific concepts for how each class should be (and I think delusional in many aspects), so what frustrates me the most is whenever Blizzard decides to change an aspect of the class, the developers pretend it is nothing but a bugfix or was not 'working as intended'. rukkus 03-23-2005, 01:38 PM those bug fixes are fine. as i posted earlier in the thread we have actually taken a decent DPS hit to autoshot after "fixing" a bug that we have been balanced around. our dps wasn't too high, there was no reason to alter it as that is our only use. | ||
