COD United Offensive

Hey all,

I figured I would try you all since my Google searches produced nothing. I bought the COD UO expansion months ago and just now had the time to install it. Maybe one of you has played this and experienced the same.

I finally had the time to do some gaming so I reinstalled COD then installed COD UO. No I didn't patch the original COD because I figured UO had been out long enough it would need updated too.

Anyway both installs went smoothly till I try to play the game. When I click on the desktop icon it loads to a splash screen with only the background and no text. I can move my mouse over where I figure text should be to start a game and hear it click but that's it.

What my system is and what I have tried so far....

Win 2k pro SP4 (just installed after the prob)
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 Cat driver ver 6.14.10.6517(just installed after the prob)
DirectX 9.0c(just installed to try to fix the prob)
Installed United Offensive 1.51 update too

pc is an Ath. 1.8xp
512 megs ram


Any help appreciated.

Just reinstall :) It shouldn't take too long!

I play Cod and UO religiously, but I don't have this issue, never seen it.

Yeah i would reinstall. I play uo all the tims and have never had that prob

Fixed.
It was the original COD disc 1 that was causing the problems after I noticed it hanging at 40% and 45% for about a min each at install. Although it looked pretty clean it did have a few rashes from popping it in and out of the cdrom. Gave it a good cleaning and it installed fine.
